Great customer service
I received this Chamberlain MC100-P2 Garage Door Opener Remote today and I had problems programming it. I called Chamberlain and talked with a customer service rep that had me operational in less than 2 minutes. Thanks Chamberlain for the great help.

GENIE/OVERHEAD DOOR READ!!!
I fought with this thing for so long! I was about to give up and write this off as a bust, but I came across a comment from someone on Chamberlain’s website who found the solution for pairing with Genie/Overhead Door: where the instructions indicate you to click twice, YOU MUST CLICK THREE TIMES!! After clicking 3 times setup was quick and easy. Works great and fits on my keyring nicely. Is smaller than my key fob for my car!

Read this if having trouble programming
Took me a couple of tries, but then I figured out what the remote was doing and why it wouldn't program.First off... keep in mind that this is a UNIVERSAL remote that can work with a variety of units. As a result, it has to cycle through a series of program codes until it finds the one that works for your unit (much like programming a universal TV remote).Once I started thinking of it in this manner, the instructions made perfect sense and I easily programmed the unit for both of my garage door openers. So here's my version of this instructions, that I hope will help you.1) Start with the garage door closed. I don't think this really matters, other than it's probably safer that way so you don't accidentally bonk someone on the head when the garage door starts to close. :)2) Press AND HOLD the bottom button on the remote for approximately 15 seconds (the instructions say 10 seconds, but it's really closer to 15). Once you start pressing the button a blue light will start flashing. After 15 seconds the light will stop flashing and turn solid blue*. Once it is solid blue, release the button.3) Press and release the learn button on your door opener unit. For my garage door openers I only need to press the button once to enter "learn" mode, but for yours you may need to press the button twice. Follow instructions for your unit.4) On the remote control, press the button you wish to program - twice.Once you do this it will start sending a series of pre-programmed codes to your door opener unit.**When it starts cycling through the various codes it will blink rapidly for a second... then it will take a brief pause and then start cycling through the next code. So on and so on.When it finally hits the jackpot and your garage door starts to open, you know that you have found the correct code for your unit. When that happens...5) Immediately hit the button on the remote again (the one you want to program). This will confirm the correct code and it should now work with your opener.NOTE:* The first time I tried to program the unit, the light flashed blue for 15 seconds and then went out (it did not turn solid blue as it was supposed to). I tried it again and the same thing happened. On the third attempt it blinked blue and then went out, so I just continued with the programming instructions as if it had turned solid blue and it worked fine. When I went to program my second garage door opener, the blue light DID turn solid blue as it was supposed to.** On the second garage door opener I tried to program, when I executed step 4 above (pressed the remote button twice), it blinked rapidly (sending the first code) and then stopped. It just sat there for several seconds and did nothing. Finally I pressed the button on the remote one more time and it continued cycling through the program codes until it finally found the one that opened my door. Then I immediately pressed the button again to confirm the program. It worked fine after that.

Works once you hack the set up
Really sturdy but difficult to program. Never saw the blue light but got it working after about 25 minutes of trying to follow the instructions. Way better than the cheaper one with the cover on it that died after 6 months but it is 3x the price. Hoping it lasts.

It works, but one very important thing
The materials with which is made are of very good quality. I see some one star reviews due to inability to program it despite following all the steps. It happened to me as well. I changed the battery like many others did. I was perplexed by the amber instead of blue light and thought this could have something to do with its functionality. But the light and the battery have nothing to do with it. The only thing that had to be done is to make sure you follow all the steps widely described in videos and instructions but with one very important thing that is not well emphasized anywhere: once the gate starts to open during programming, you only have 2-3 seconds to press the button you desire to use to confirm programming. You wait 2 seconds more and it will not program and won’t work afterwards. After a few attempts, I was able to figure that out and wanted to share it with anyone who is (or was) in the same situation.

JUST received the TWO I ordered. Just set them up.
Used on the Chamberlain Whisper Drive opener we've had for at least 10 years. Bought TWO.They DO WORK... but I was a bit impatient and had trouble until I figured out that I had to wait longer after the opener motor lights flashed... waited for the door to start opening, THEN press the button the final time. heh heh... so Once I did the procedure correctly (after re-reading the directions) they both set up just fine to my OLD Chamberlain Whisper Drive (PURPLE Learn button)No idea yet about battery longevity of distance, but these were bought for me and my wife to use coming back home from Motorcycle rides. (We each ride our own, and often separately)Now... No need to get off the bikes to open the door. We lost our extra remote AND it was sort of big, so these much smaller ones are easier to carry. So far, so good.I will update this review when I have some time to seriously put them to the test.
