The Hits--Chapter One

So, I'm not totally over the moon with this compilation, but I appreciate both acts. On the BSB side they produced some catchy singles in their time and thus are essential to any teen pop enthusiast's collection. I mean isn't "I Want it That Way" just magic? Yes, it is and that's all because of Svengoolie Max Martin. Max Martin is the pop genius that gave us Britney Spears and BSB. Somewhere in Sweden, he's there tolling away, but I digress.This doesn't include everything the Essential has to offer, but what's here is great. Here u get BSB at their very, very best. Of course, "IWITW" is a classic but so is "Everybody BS's back" and a few other singles. Of note is "Shape of My heart" and "Show me the meaning of being lonely". Those two are two of the best ballads teen pop has ever produced and Max Martin is at the helm on most of this release. U see where i'm going with this. I'm sure u do.All the songs here are quality and rarely does BSB fall into that awful, cheesy boy band sound some ppl enjoy. Here their voices are second to the hooks, which really are the star attraction in all teen pop. This isn't music to last a century. It can be dated, but if u listen with good ear and open mind u can grow to appreciate --even love-- teen pop. I'm a fan of the genre and I always will be. BSB has got my vote, although I'd much rather enjoy *NSYNC. 5/5 stars. Highly recommended

Love me the Backstreet Boys. It came quickly and in good condition. I love all of the songs on the album. It is a good compilation. Never get tired of listening to this album.
