Sturdy, and does the intended job.

I got this to fix my boat cover and it worked perfectly for that, it also worked on the pool cover and my son's backpack. This is a sturdy tool that makes it easier to make snap fasteners, much easier than the old method of hammer and flat surface etc, you can use this without removing the cover or whatever you are fixing. I love the fact that I am able to operate it myself and don't have to get my husband to do it. It has a comfortable grip and the package comes with a few naps so if you only need a few, you are all set. Too bad amazon is not allowing pictures at the moment, I could have uploaded some.

The adjustable vice-grip tool is a good quality, solid and sturdy tool. It only took about 5 minutes to learn how to make a working snap and I had very little trouble making my first practice snap, and then a second one that is functional on my finished project. I could see this being difficult for children or for people with small hands, and the included instructions are almost completely useless - but I figured it out quickly and the tool and the included snap pieces worked better than I expected after reading other people's reviews. This is so much easier than using an anvil and taps with a hammer - and I definitely recommend this product.

I spent way too much time debating different snap fasteners and finally decided on this one over one with an integrated punch, one with a magnetic snap grip, a super expensive one (like 6X the cost of this one), etc. In the end, I think I made a great choice - banged out about forty snaps in no time - I did one test snap to see how it all worked and then went to town. No misalignments, no loose snaps, nothing - all good. If you're going through the same decision tree, I would recommend you look no further. Does it appear that this device is just an ordinary locking pliers with attachments welded on to crimp the snaps? Yes...and, I don't care. It simply got the job done.

It took me a while to find these but I am so glad I did. I had bought several sets of Poppers that came with a punch set. The hammer and punch is very hard to use and often ends up crushing the poppers and breaking them or damaging them so they are not strong. The example pictures with these sets were not done with the lunch I am sure. This tool is so much easier to use and gives a much better result. You can easily adjust the pliers to the desired amount of crimp and it is different for male and female popper parts. Much better and consistent results without the noise.

If you are buying for the tool, it works fine. The snaps provided are garbage. Actually it's just the male parts. I made a female clip and it was so loose on the provided male end it was useless. I tried the new female end on the male end of an existing connector and it make a solid connection. The problem seems to be with the male end. Small incidental part of the package so not going to bother returning. Can buy quality materials locally at west marine.

I tried the cheap kit with the hammer in it first....what a complete joke!!! Even after getting the snaps on, they wouldn't snap together. So I purchased this one (I didn't want to spend $39..) But it was SO WORTH IT!! This tool made it ridiculously easy to get the snaps on. I could do it myself, without help, and they ACTUALLY SNAP TOGETHER!!!! Even though I wasn't thrilled about the price, I think this tool will last for many many years, so well worth the price. I would highly recommend this!!!

It gets the job done. However, the only thing I wish was it had a magnetic holder for the crimp attachment. Mine has the rubber gasket but does not really hold as well as I would like. If you are on a boat like me and you are trying to crimp seat cushions and you lose this piece its kind of useless.
