qtx LED Derby 9 Light Effect

I ran a pair of these at an 80s themed disco recently (along with some other lights) and I'm very happy with the results. They're fairly compact, the fan and motor are quiet enough that you won't hear them over music and the lighting effect is great. There's a nice selection of lighting modes that give good flexibility, ranging from fairly subtle/slow, to lots of colour and movement. Combined with a smoke/haze machine, the effect is very impressive and has a great retro aesthetic.I can't comment on the included remote, as I controlled them via DMX but the remote is a handy feature that I'm sure many people will find useful. There's some rubber feet on the bottom that make it easy to position the lights by just sitting them on something, rather than hanging them with the supplied brackets. I sat mine on the edge of a stage and that worked fine. But hanging them above head height and angling them down onto a dancefloor would give an awesome effect.My only slight complaint is that the sound activation isn't very sensitive. So I struggled to get it to work until later in the night when the music was louder. So I'd recommend positioning them fairly close to speakers to help. But for the price (£43), I'm very happy with the results and several people commented that the lighting at the event was really good.

I was super impressed at first but the fact it broke after only a few uses is really disappointing considering the price. I wouldn’t waste your money. Overpriced and isn’t built to last long at all.

We use use these to create interest against facades and so on. Works well via DMX and although it has limited functionality it does provide a classic effect.At its price point and for its purpose we recomend it.

Bought 2 of these lights, 1 worked ok, the 2nd one kept switching off, was not impressed. I have tried to contact seller on website suggested but just keep getting 404 page not found, also tried troubleshooting but just keep getting sorry content not available. Very poor after sales service!

Not bad

Great cheap little light. Derby effects really fill a room with scattered light. These work well for the money and if your just starting out are a great place to start or would make a great add on for those with a light bar.
