I held off review until I was confident that it would last for at least a few months in service. I've gone through another brand that would burn out after about one month. Two of them. This has lasted around three months I think? Plus under what I think is slightly harsher conditions: my fence is continuous, not pulsed, so the light does not flash, it just stays on continuously. Which is fine, I only want to know if the fence is active. I don't expect any device like this to last forever, and even if it burns out tomorrow (now that I submit a review it suddenly becomes more likely, you know how that goes) I think that if I have to replace 2 or 3 times a year it's significantly better than the other brand which was once a month. It does its job, I'm satisfied and would recommend.

Lasted just over a month and then quit working, just beyond the return period. When it work, it was pretty decent. You could see it for at least 600 feet. I have used lots of different Dare products and have always been happy with them, but this item, I'm afraid, misses the mark.

I'm noticing a lot of the negative reviews are because people don't understand how this works. It has a capacitor in it that as it gathers enough electricity it releases a burst of light like a camera flash. When my fence was at 10K volts, it would flash every 4 seconds. When we had a rain and the wet grass sucked a bunch of power off the fence, it might flash every 9 seconds. It will not pulse with every pulse of the Energizer. The more power running through the fence, the fewer pulses before it hits the limit and the LED flashes. The lower the energy, the more pulses required from the Energizer before it releases a flash of light.All that said, I really liked how it worked. I could look outside at dusk and no roughly how the fence was operating. Unfortunately, one of my resistors broke at about the 3-month mark. I think it's because I crossed the ground wire onto a hot wire. It's unfortunate that something that can happen so easily can break this product. And if that's not what broke it, then it's unfortunate that it just stopped working after 3 months. I tested it further by pulling the circuit board out and when I touched the hot wire past the first resistor, I could get the light to work how it should.

My fence is putting out around 5400 volts, and this indicator flashes about once every 19 seconds. I expected it to flash with every pulse of the fence. Also, I don't like that the light and the body are both clear. It makes it very difficult to see in the daylight. I think a colored light or a black body would help.

Works great! Does bright flash every 5 clicks which is right off charger fence disconnexted to see what condition fence is when no shorts. Follow instructions when you get it well worth the money!

I am thinking that the product that I received may be defective. I have 8900V or 8.9Kv running through my electric fence pulsed. I will see a white light pulse probably every 2 minutes or so. According to the instructions, the light is supposed to pulse every time the signal goes through which it doesn't which is the reason why I say it is defective. Other than that, it seems to be made very well and was very excited when I received it.

I love this thing!!!! I have two unruly horses that always sneak out because we have some electrical issues with their fence. I dont walk out and test the fence everyday but it was getting to that point! This make it so convenient! And the light is bright. I just look out my kitchen window now and can see if its working or not!

We were super excited to have found such a useful tool...however it does not work on any type of electric fence (tape or high tensel). We missed the window for return so make sure you have your fence up and ready before you purchase this product- so if it does not work you can return it within 30 days.
