Q: is it hard to transplant it to a bigger pot once it starts to sprout? and is eastern nc ideal for it if i put it outside?

I wish we had good answers for you....my daughter bought the kit after visiting JNP. She sprouted two little seedlings and they have been transplanted to a bigger pot. After 2 months, it still looks like a few small blades of grass. It's hard to know how much to water, given they are used to a desert climate. Can't tell if we are over- or under-watering. She planted it in a dry potting mix made for cacti and succulents to allow for drainage. I did not take the pot apart. Left it in one piece.

Q: What type of soil is in the kit

Seems like a basic seed starting soil, with a separate baggie of large vermiculite that gets sprinkled on top to help keep the soil hydrated.

The pot is to plant the seeds in. You might want to consider only planting one seed at a time, I found the hard part wasn’t getting the seeds to sprout but getting one transplanted into a larger pot.
