Excellent Mounted Laser-Light-Combo
Update #3: Just bought #3. Also for those of you looking to find a holster that fits the light, I had one custom made by Bare Arms Holsters and it works great.Update #2: I love this laser-light do much I bought a second. I can’t recommend it enough.Update #1: Held a perfect zero after 500 rounds of 9mm. The laser is clearly visible in daylight at 40 yards, and shines like a 200 yard lightsaber at night.——————Fits perfectly on a Sig P226 mk25, has multiple screw holes for the mount to sit perfectly on your rail for the exact placement you need, I think the others who complained about the mount didn’t use the right hole (pun intended). The light is bright, but not over the top going to blind me on a white wall sort of bright, but that aside it does illuminate an entire room and would blind anyone remotely near the epicenter. The green laser is bright and clear, and stands out very well even with the 500 lumen flashlight shining at the same point.

Great green laser/light combo
Product arrived on time and in great shape. This laser and light has so many easy to use features. The button has two levels of activation, soft touch is a true monetary, and a hard press is your standard button. Light is advertised as 500 lumens but seems MUCH brighter than other lights I have. The rechargeable battery is easy to change and very solidly held in place when mounted. Green laser is very bright and zeroed very easily as well. All in all I couldn’t be happier my purchase of Viridian’s X5L Gen 3. Fits great on my Glock 34! I will add a picture soon

The innovator in green laser and white lights mounted on weapons has lost its touch.
I recently acquired a B&T APC9 and only wanted accessories to complement the craftsmanship of this particular firearm. This viridian x5l Gen 3 missed the mark. I currently utilize all of the big weapons mounted flashlight companies. For comparison sakes I will use the Streamlight TLR2G on my FNX 45 tactical that was a direct comparison to this light.Streamlight actually has a higher lumen version (tlr2g hl) than the one I currently have available on the market at only 50 more dollars than this viridian. I liked the compactness of this module compared to the streamlight. I also was inquisitive about the rechargeability of the sight and it all worked well but I will admit it felt weird having to plug the daily weapon in nightly. It did function as expected in that regard. However anyone with a device that gets charged frequently knows after sustained use a charging port gets worn-out. Once this gets worn-out are you supposed to replace the whole unit?As any well informed consumer I did my research prior to this viridian acquisition. There weren't many reviews on the interwebs and the reviews on Amazon were hit or miss. Several of those reviews alluded to the fact of potential artifacts in the beam. I haven't previously spent any money with viridian and have never owned one of their products so I decided to give them a chance. This was not a free unit or a unit for test and evaluation.I received this product on Friday March 1st 2019. I mounted it to the B&T and looked forward to my range trip the next morning. In gathering the tool needed to adjust the laser, I released that there were no included instructions. This was also was referred to by another reviewer of the x5l. So I set off the the range and shot about 300 rounds through the Apc9. Success, all is well I'm on cloud nine and I think this is just what I wanted on this pistol. Well unfortunately, that was a fleeing emotion.Today is Sunday March 3rd and there are artifacts in the laser. At one point I had a dot and a long streak. At another I had two visible dots with more artifacts. At this point I realize that I should of gone with streamlight. It may not be as slim but with cutting the fat away Viridian also cut away the quality.I have only tier 1 equipment when it comes to my firearms because I value my life that much. If you are into role playing or larping this is the weapons mounted light for you. If you are depending on this to produce consistent performance when it is need i.e life or death scenario then it's not for you. There is a phrase buy once cry once and I normally subscribe to that. However, I went out on a limb and tried to give a company a chance, I mean they did pioneer green lasers and white lights to be affixed to many weapons platforms and they failed me within 48 hours. That says alot in so little time. The device wasn't handled improperly or abused and it still failed. I will be returning it and getting the new streamlight tlr2g hl with 300 more lumens then the 500 this Viridian has and green laser. It is a trade off of having to stock batteries vs charging but I already have one and batteries are plentiful. I wish for the best shopping experience for the people who come here after me.

Lots of beam artifacts and doesn’t fit TLR-1 holsters
Bought the Viridian X5L Gen 3 when it dipped in price. Love Amazon prime for the rapid price drops. Out of the box, the 500 lumen light 💡 is bright and has a nice, wide hot spot with decent spill. IMO the beam tends more neutral/cool than warm white...if you’re into flashlights 🔦 you’ll know what I mean. Seems brighter to my eye 👁 than the 500 lumen Streamlight TLR-7 light that I have but that is likely subjective. The Streamlight has a very warm (yellowish) beam tint. Unfortunately, the X5L Gen 3 green laser, when directed at a wall, had lots of artifacts (rings, lines, etc) around the primary green laser dot and there was also a faint 2nd green dot to the low right of the actual primary green laser dot. Not sure what that is all about. When the light and laser are used together against a wall, the artifacts are mostly concealed and fade at distance, but are readily apparent when just the green laser is used even at distance. I think some other reviewers also reported seeing artifacts as well. But still, for the price of this X5L Gen 3, I expected a better quality green laser beam profile. I definitely do like the pulsing green laser feature though. Crimson Trace doesn’t even offer that feature. Compared to the CT green laser I have, I would put them at relatively equal brightness for the green laser with just slightly varying shades of green. The X5L green laser was initially way off aim/center being very high and to the left but adjusted easily using the supplied Allen key. The laser beam artifacts also seemed to change when I adjusted the laser for elevation and windage.Interestingly enough, there’s only a card with very basic instructions included in the box. If you want the full instruction manual for the X5L Gen 3, you have to go to Viridian’s website and print them yourself. Maybe they’re trying to save some trees 🌲 and/or costs?Mounted on a Glock 19 Gen 5, the X5L Gen 3 sits ever so slightly pointing upward and has the ever-slightest bit of movement up and down when fully tightened. Instructions says not to over tighten the retaining screw. Probably not too much of an issue in real use, but I thought that little bit of movement could possibly throw off zero at some point. One of the main reasons I bought the X5L Gen 3 was Viridian’s website claim that stated it “fits most holsters designed for Streamlight TLR1.” Unfortunately, my experiences didn’t hold that to be true. YMMV, but I have 3 different holsters from 3 different companies (Safariland ALS 6354DO, Raven Concealment Perun, and TR Kydex Holster) that are all designed for the TLR-1 and TLR-1 HL lights, and the X5L Gen 3 did not fit in any of them. The front of the X5L Gen 3 body extends forward where the TLR-1 tapers down into a smaller bezel/head of the light. That’s where the hold up seems to be. The Glock 19 Gen 5 with X5L Gen 3 attached wouldn’t seat fully in any of the holsters, stopping short by about 3/4” to over an 1” of being fully seated in the respective holsters. That, unfortunately, for my intended purpose was a deal breaker for me. I know it’s difficult to find holsters for light/laser combos but the company shouldn’t claim that the X5L Gen 3 will fit most TLR-1 holsters when it doesn’t. Maybe my experience was a fluke, but when it doesn’t fit 3 different holsters from 3 different companies then that seems like a pretty good sampling you can’t dismiss. Or at least Viridian should list what specific holsters it will fit so we know before dropping this kind of coin on the X5L Gen 3 laser light combo.Just my 2 cents...I really wanted the love the X5L Gen 3 but the artifacts/defects in the green laser beam profile, and more importantly, the inability of the X5L Gen 3 to fit any of the 3 different TLR-1 holsters that I have meant that it had to be returned. Btw, this is a legit review and I bought this X5L Gen 3 with my own money. No freebies here.
