A great product with a nice blend of every thing
This Is the ONLY REVIEW THAT YOU WILL EVER NEED TO TAKE YOUR DECISION !!!So its the Core i7 6700k (6th Gen Skylake Processor) from Intel. Surely, 6th might sound old and aged since the 7th gen lineup of processors has already been announced by the company itself months ago, but trust me when I say that its still a great buy for what you pay.Since its a Skylake series chip, so it uses 14nm technology, so does the kabylake series ( 7th gen ). So performance wise, there is not much of a difference. Take a look at the benchmarks below. They clearly show that there was only a mere 3 fps difference between the stock (base clocked) i7 6700k and the over clocked i7 7700k. So if you own a i7 6700k, dont feel that you are not running in the race because its still comparable with the latest 7th gen series of Intel chipsets.Now being a little techy,CompuBench 1.5 (Bitcoin mining)Data courtesy - CompuBenchCore i7 6700K = 34.87 mHash/sCore i7 4790K = 16.1 mHash/sCompuBench 1.5 (Face detection)Core i7 6700K = 28.2 mPixels/sCore i7 4790K = 15.01 mPixels/sCompuBench 1.5 (T-Rex)Data courtesy - CompuBenchCore i7 6700K = 1.64 fpsCore i7 4790K = 1.79 fpsGeekBench 3 (Multi-core)Data courtesy - Primate LabsCore i7 6700K = 17,570Core i7 4790K = 15,490GeekBench 3 (Single core)Data courtesy - Primate LabsCore i7 6700K = 4,507Core i7 4790K = 4,004GeekBench 3 (AES single core)Data courtesy - Primate LabsCore i7 6700K = 6,010 MB/sCore i7 4790K = 5,140,000 MB/sPassMarkData courtesy - PassmarkCore i7 6700K = 11,109Core i7 4790K = 11,196PassMark (Single Core)Core i7 6700K = 2,349Core i7 4790K = 2,530I guess that wraps it up all. Beyond my expectation, Just go for it.
Intel Core i7 6700K is a beast. My Configuration-1. i7 6700K2. Asus Z170 Pro Gaming3. Corsair 16 GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2400Mhz4. Corsair H100i V2 Extreme Performance Liquid cooler.5. WD Black 2TB Performance HDD6. Corsair RMx 750 PSU7. Samsung 850 EVO 250GB8. Corsair 400R CaseAnd still waiting for GTX1080 price drop to the normal.I built this system for medium gaming, video editing, 3-4 Virtual machines, tabbed browsing, running software like Adobe After Effect, Sony Vegas etc without any lag or issue.Tried overclocking up to 4.4 GHz and didn't face any heating or BSOD issue.Just go for it, I also did research on it and found this processor on the top of mid-range processor.

This processor is amazing . I got it during sale and i'm telling you , it is one of the most powerful processors out there . If you're trying to build a Powerful gaming rig , this processor is what you need . I ran Shadow of Mordor , which is a very demanding game before i recieved my GTX 1070 on this processor . It actually worked , albeit in low settings but then again , it actually worked ! Without a GPU ! It's that powerful .

Superfast processor
The best processor I have seen to date, excellent speed, packaging was little poor, but the seal was intact and one more thing, these new generation of processor does not come with cooling fan, you'll have to purchase them separately.

Worth it
This processor is the beast. Whatever you throw at it, it works like a charm. I was able to overclock it to 4.6 Ghz from stock 4.0 Ghz. But you need a good liquid cooler for overclocking above 4.4 Ghz. My temperatures are reaching 90C in stress test with Prime95 at 4.0 Ghz. Gaming with Max settings 70 to 80C. Normal load 40 to 50C. It is worth buying for future proof, if you are gamer or use it for heavy editing.

One of the best quad-core CPU in the market
I bought this over 7700k cuz I could still overclock it to 4.6GHz without any issues. The cooler I use is the legendary Hyper 212X from Cooler Master. Temp stays below 80deg Celcius under full load. Get a liquid cooler and smash the benchmarks. It can clock upto 4.8 or 4.9GHz. No problem at all.
