Guillow's North American B-25 Mitchell Model Kit

Having built this kit once before, I knew exactly what to expect....Guillows quality. Not for beginners, but someone who's built a couple of these types of models should have to trouble.

Great model...tedious to build.

this was the forth guillows model ive build in the last few months and the best so far. been 40 years sense i last built one of guillows model. i have to say that i had more enjoyment building the B25 mitchell, than any of the laser cut models.looking forward to the next build think of C47great model great company.mike

the planes were hard to follow

This Guillows kit makes into a beautiful model. It arrived via Amazon quickly and in excellent condition. I recommend it to anyone with a medium level of paper and stick aircraft modeling experience.

I had high hopes for this kit but was extremely disappointed. Half of the balsa sheets arrived broken, and NONE of them were die-cut all the way through. Have to spend a ridiculous amount of time separating the pieces from the main sheets, and even then there’s a stupid amount of additional repairing and forming which needs to be done. If you can get them out of the sheets, cutting the stringer notches is impossible as the parts are mostly damaged from the bad die-cuts. Be prepared to mend nearly every piece. All of the plastic parts are thermoformed, not injected, and are extremely thin. None are cut to shape and seaming is very, very difficult. I’ve built a lot of models, and given the high price tag, I expected much, much more. Very cheaply made, definitely would not recommend at any price. On a positive note, the instructions are clear. A bit of web searching indicated the poor quality of these models is well known. Did not get a response from the manufacturer. Will certainly never buy another Guillow's kit. There are some decent laser-cut options out there from better suppliers.

Good kit, but no extra balsa?? What? It's a big box, and when you open it up its almost empty. From what I can tell so far, at least all the required pieces are there... I'm still building so I will update when I get through with it. Seems like Guillow's is really skimping these days. Balsa is fragile... I'm really worried that I'll accidentally break some piece and won't have any extra wood to make a new one.Overall though, I'm pretty excited to get this thing built. The instructions seem of high quality, and with a little patience and a light touch the plane should come out great

My husband wanted one of these for Xmas. He seems really pleased with this model, he is already half finished. I suspect I'll have to purchase a different guillow's model very soon!
