Essential for every GEN 8 Microserver owner!
I bought this when i bought my GEN 8 Microserver. I found the Microserver's performance was a bit lacking out of the box and wanted something that would help improve that. This was a small simple and quick upgrade that every Microserver owner should perform along with buying an SSD. I have no hesitation in recommending this and yes you should buy it!!! Had mine for over 6 months no issues to report!! Highly Recommended. If anything changes i will report back..

Kingston Technology KVR16E11/8 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz ECC DIMM Memory with Thermal Sensor
I bought this memory 2 x 8GB DIMMS (Kingston Technology KVR16E11/8 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz ECC DIMM Memory with Thermal Sensor ) for my HP Micro Server N54L and the system instantly detected the new 16GB of memory on during system boot process (I didn't even have to go to the BIOS setup.Works 100% although little more expensive then the other "Kingston KVR1333D3E9SK2/16G 16GB 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ValueRAM ECC Memory Kit" which also works with HP Micro Server N54L.

Compatible with the DX79SR motherboard
If the RAM you've bought works then there's not a lot else to say but it's for a DX79SR motherboard which has ECC support and it works a treat.

Can't fault it.
Bought for a FreeNAS set-up with the selling point being the ECC. two sticks of 8 GB, performs as would be expected.Would recommend to anyone setting up a similar home server

Good product but QC slightly lacking
Using this currently in my HP Microserver N40L after it was having trouble running some software due to a severe lack of RAM.This arrived within a few days from Amazon and I stuck it straight into the system. Unfortunately the system did not boot up so I thought I may have installed it incorrectly or the DIMM may be unseated. After about 30 mins of troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that it was the memory that was faulty. Contacted Amazon and they sent out a replacement no problems.Installed the replacement and my system was working and recognising all of the memory. I've been told not to mix and match memory, and as 8GB is more than sufficient, this is the only stick currently installed into the system.
