Did what I bought it for
I bought this item to primarily test batteries, it did the job well, the instructions were easy to understand and I like the little rubber bungs on the probes for when it's not in use. The only issue I have is the screw for the battery cover/stand was missing, but it still worked without it and when I found an appropriate sized screw to use the stand was helpful.

Excellent for the price
For a basic multi meter, this is really good value for money, most low priced meters have things missing like a buzzer and or backlight. This has those features as well as feeling quite well made and good to hold. It works perfectly well for smaller jobs and for £20 you really cant complain. So many out there at double the price which are no way near as good. I cant understand people who are complaining because you cant see which terminal is positive or negative when you put the battery in or that the screw on the back is a bit cheap. Its £20 quid! Great product for the price!

Good functions
For the price what's not to like, display easy to read and battery lasts well for basic testing nothing to hectic, bought to use when higher accuracy and voltages are not required, works well and accurate

Well worth paying a little extra over other budget models
Well worth paying a little extra over other budget models. Agreed that the battery compartment is initially a bit challenging, but you can just about see the +- polarity markings and easy once you realise the battery cover is held in place by one mini screw. But being forewarned I do not consider this a deal breaker.

Worth buying
Easy to use. Good quality made. I don't know about its accuracy because I have no way of measuring it but it works for what I need.

Well made meter let down by basic detail flaws.
The meter is solidly built and functional but it's let down by cost cutting design. Usually a PP9 battery connects to a plug which can only be connected one way. To reduce production costs two open terminals have been used which aren't clearly identified. There are + and - markings moulded into the case but they are hidden under the terminals and can only be seen by looking from a particular angle in good light. See photos. The manual doesn't help as the only thing it doesn't cover is how to install the battery. My other long term concern is that the battery cover is secured by a small Phillips screw. These are often soft and easily damaged, making battery replacement impossible. You might expect this in an unbranded item but I was surprised a Draper branded meter is so poorly presented. An otherwise quality product is let down by poor detail design. Hence 3 stars, not 5.
