Excellent design
I really love how these hold the fabric in place and are easy to use and adjust. By far my favorite design. About the only thing I don't like is how they crimp the fabric, however, it is worth it to me to not have to be frequently adjusting and reapplying the hoops like the wooden ones I have.

Perfect, just what I needed.
Absolutely love these hoops. I cross stitch quite a bit and hate when my fabric gets loose in my plastic hoop. These spring hoops keep that from happening. It gets a little loose but it's not like a plastic or bamboo hoop. I stretched the metal a bit and it is snugger in the plastic hoop part. I highly recommend these hoops.

not your typical embroidery hoop
I just received this today and tried it out right away. It will take some getting used to. I have always used traditional type embroidery hoops and wanted something that held the tension better. So far I don't see that these do that... (the piece I'm working on is larger than the hoop so maybe the fact that it's having to accommodate areas that are embroidered is causing that) Also, sometimes I hold the hoop against me to stabilize it and I have to be careful with these cause if you press it too hard the inner hoop comes out. getting the inner hoop in place is a little challenging too though practice will help with that. If your just doing embroidery occasionally, these will work fine, but if your doing a lot of projects or a large project where you have to move the hoop around, you may be better with something else.

The best embroidery hoops available for hand and machine embroidery!
I have used a variety of embroidery hoops, over the years, but I have found these hoops to be the best type for embroidery. I have used them for counted cross stitch, French Knot embroidery, regular embroidery, and machine embroidery. These hoops have never failed to keep the material taut as well as being easy to move the hoop to another part of the pattern. The hoops are also narrow enough to easily move under the foot of a sewing machine, in order to do sewing machine embroidery. All that is necessary to change the position of the material is to squeeze the ends of the round metal holder and remove it from the circular hoop, move the material the the next part of the pattern, then squeeze the metal ends of the holder, slip it inside the round hoop, and then release the metal holder. The metal holder expands and othe material is taut again. Since the metal holder automatically adjusts to the thickness of the material, there is no twisting a screw tighten the hoop to the thickness of the material. I just LOVE these hoops and I have every sizes available to use for my needlework. Also the hoops do not break, split, or develop splinters from their use, over the years of use. I have some of these hoops that I purchased in the 1970s, that are just as good as the ones that I purchased from this dealer. I am now teaching one of my granddaughters how to do counted cross stitch. She had problems getting the embroidery hoop, that came with the kit that I bought her, to tighten properly on her material. She is so delighted with the ease of using those hoops.

Variety of Sizes
I'm pleased with my purchase. They are easy to use with my limited hand strength, which is what I hoped for. The three sizes will be helpful when I'm mending and doing embroidery. Shipping was prompt too. I am happy with my purchase!

Two hoops work great
The two smallest hoops work great for embroidery, the large hoop doesn’t hold my fabric tight like it should. It’s almost like the spring needs to be sturdier.

Finally a hoop that fits under my sewing machine foot without having to remove the shank!
All the other hoops I tried could not fit under that gap even with the foot raised so this was a last ditch effort to get a hoop I could use for satin stitching without having to take the quilting foot off everytime I needed to move the piece. I am very new to this form of sewing but I am happy the hoop has given me more stability in guiding the piece as I sew. The picture shows 3 layers of satin and a layer of stabilizer all in that hoop soo it holds a considerable amount taught. I pinch the silver clasps slide it in then turn the silver piece just to ensure a snug fit. I haven't used these for hand sewing yet but they met my needs for machine sewing and I am very happy.

Useless
Does not hold the fabric taught. There is a gap where the fabric is totally loose (pictured, upper left), and that affects the tension across the piece. All efforts to pull it tighter end with the inner hoop springing out of the flimsy plastic ring. It loosens immediately while working. I might as well hold the fabric in my hand for all the good these hoops are doing.
