Q: what is the outside diameter of these batteries?

don'tn know, but evey batter like this size always cam to me dead! even at battery plus!

Q: Why does the description state "batteries ‎2 lr44 batteries required." is this an adapter for lr44 or the actual px625 1.35v replacement batteries?

I have no idea why. Probably a mistake. These are actual Zinc-Air batteries that are encased in an adapter to fit older devices that are designed for PX625/PX13 mercury batteries. They replace these hazardous batteries.
