I totally recommend this product
I have been using it for over a year on a daily basis, I totally recommend this product. Works great for tabatas, boxing rounds and a a chronometer. I also use set it to just one interval on manual mode to rest only 1 minute after an exercise. You can set it to time 2 intervals like rest and work or just 1 interval from 1 sec to 99:59.You can set it manual in order to activate it each time you press the button, for an amount of 99 rounds or to go for infinite rounds. You can set it to warn you 10 sec or 30 sec before the round ends, or no warning at all.The ability to attach it to the wall with the magnets is really useful.I use it probably 2 times a day for more than an hour and the battery seems to hold for more than 6 months, probably like 8 months.I have dropped it on multiple times and it always keeps working, on one occasion one battery came off and on other occasion both batteries came off, I thought my workout was ruined, but turns out that it will keep working without batteries for around 20 seconds, enough time to put the batteries back and keep training.I would buy this product again.

English Language Directions/How to Remove Belt Clip (UPDATE)
I just receive my Everlast Interval Training Round Timer. Without looking at the instructions, I was able to load the batteries, but with five different buttons it was not intuitive how to change the interval timing settings. So, I decided to read the printed instructions included in the package. Unfortunately, even with a graduate degre, I am unable to read the instructions. The reason is simple: they are ONLY written in Russian and I took French as my foreign language. I noticed on the Amazon site that this package is approved for shipment in the US. Granted the package has English on the external packaging materials, but to ONLY provide Russian-language instructions for a product with fairly technical directions to change the settings. The setting change trick is that you have to hold down the "NEXT & CHANGE" buttons at the same time to move into the "settings change mode". Then, the CHANGE button causes an individual setting to "change" and the NEXT button moves to the "next" setting change. If you want to get a copy of the English instructions, I found the following English instructions on the Internet: http://www.fitness-seller.nl/downloads/dl/file/id/98/gebruiksaanwijzing_ev_7011timer.pdf/. Another trick, you will need to use the Lock Button because the Pause Button on the face of the device is very sensitive. One push of the Lock Button will Lock the screen, but you have to PRESS & HOLD the Lock Button for several seconds to unLOCK the screen. Without these instructions, you will have a difficult time using the device until you learn the "real meaning" of how the buttons work. Now that I've figured out how to change the settings to my desired intervals, I hope to use it on my next "Walk/Run/Walk" training run.It also comes with a "strap" to be used in place of the belt clip, but I'm still trying to figure out how to remove the belt clip so that I can insert the belt in the loop. *UPDATE* I have figured out how to remove the belt clip. (1) Open the clip and place your thumb INSIDE the open clip with the large section of the clip resting on the back of your thumb, (2) Push down with your thumb and then SLIDE your thumb towards you to slide the clip loose from the body of the timer. (3) Insert the strap through the loops on the back of the timer.I'll update my Star Rating after I have had a chance to actually use the device. Right now it gets 5 Stars for functionality, but 1 Star for Instructions (unless you read Russian, in which case it would get 5 and 5. SHAME ON AMAZON for releasing a product with ONLY Russian language instructions...!!! UPDATE: I have now used the device for several runs. It works just like it is supposed to. The only question is how you want to set the alarm for each interval: Ring, Vibrate, or Ring/Vibrate. I started with Ring/Vibrate, but that was too much. I'm going to just use the Ring the next time.

Absolutely useless!
Absolutely useless! The use of the timer is dependent on being able to program the device for your particular needs. However, the programming instructions are completely irrational and follow no consistent form of programming any device. The instructions have you press certain buttons simultaneously which is like playing twister with your hands. The instructions remind me of what it was like to program a VCR in the 80s - that is why everyone back then always had the blinking "12:00". You have to lose your common sense to be able to program this device. I have no doubt that this device has worked for some that are willing to spend the time trying to memorize an irrational system of programming that mirrors no other electronic device I have ever used. However, there is an opportunity cost - I could spend that time working out instead.

Great durable and easy to read timer with all the options used at my gym, for a tenth of the price!
Great round timer! I set this on the ground near me when working the heavy or double end bags in my garage. I can tap it with my glove or toe to pause it easily. The volume is perfect and the size of the display allows me to see it from a distance so I don't have to stop to see where I am in the round. I've dropped it on the concrete from height at least 3 times and it has kept working and showed no sign of damage. I have not used it on my arm while working out - it feels a little too big for me personally (I'm almost 5'3" ;-) ) but I don't think it would be too big for an average size person. It might feel a bit heavy if you're just starting to work out. It has all the round timing, interval, and rest options I wanted, basically equivalent to the round timer used at my gym but far cheaper and much more compact. I think this is a great timer and would recommend it to anyone!

obnoxious
I only bought it for interval use. It can time one or two intervals. With two intervals I set one for twenty seconds, then the second for a five second rest. The second timer runs after the first. It can run one time, a given number of times or continuous. So It does what I need for one exercise. It does not save multiple programs. It's nice that it can resolve a single second. Now the BAD...The sound is not selectable, it is obnoxious. The only saving grace is that it has vibrate mode which I can use. It is not intuitive... some functions work with a press of a button, some with a four second hold. The instructions are tiny. I needed my glasses AND a maginfying glass to read them. Now that I can understand what he was talking about, I'm taking the advice of another reviewer and getting a MiniMAX.
