DC 1 X Freddy Freeman Infinite Earths Shazam Action Figure

This is Mattel's July 2013 figure in the "Signature Collection" for their Club Infinite Earths subscription line. These 6 inch figure line started in retail under the name DC Super Heroes and then it turned into "DC Universe Classics." Then it turned in to the "DC Unlimited" or "Batman Unlimited" line and they focused on more iconic names. This subscription continues the 6 inch line while providing less iconic characters.Club Infinite Earths is a subscription service in which people sign up only on Mattel's exclusive website "matty collector" in July and August. The sub. holders get a figure each year as well as an exclusive figure for being a sub. holder. The only way to buy these figures is from that website and then from people that bought them from that website.I strongly suggest looking at Mattel's website "Matty Collector" for more information if you like these figures. The exclusive figure slated for 2014 is Doomsday, if enough people order a sub. the company will hit tier 2 which will result in a more highly budgeted Doomsday.As for this figure, it is Freddy Freeman AKA Captain Marvel Jr. I gave this figure some "educational value" because the character dates back to the 1940s. This character was beloved by Elvis Presley which is some fun trivia.Who is the character:Captain Marvel Jr.'s alter-ego is Freddy Freeman, a crippled newsboy saved by Captain Marvel from the villainous Captain Nazi. Junior derives his powers from Captain Marvel himself, while the other Marvels derive their powers from the wizard Shazam. By saying the name Captain Marvel, Freddy is transformed into the teenaged Captain Marvel Jr. Unlike Captain Marvel and the modern-era version of Mary Marvel, Junior remains a teenager in his transformed state.This is a nice figure. He goes nicely with Captain Marvel & Mary Marvel (figures previously made in retail's DC Universe line) on the shelf. His blue look contrasts with the red Mary and Captain Marvel have. Captain Marvel Jr does not come with any accessories unless you count his cape.

Met all the expectations as advertised and should be commended for doing a good job. I had been looking for this figure for sometime and could only locate it out of country which I was not going to do. It comes down to a matter of trust as to who you tend your credit card to.

Awsome action figure. I love that non traditional (unpopular) characters get their own action figure. I would guess there aren't many Freddy Freeman action figures making it a must have since there are so few to choose from. Goes well with Black Adam & Shazam.
