DOT — Chefs’ Favorite Simple Alarm Thermometer - Dove Grey

I have tried many, many cordless thermometers but they have all either been too hard to use or were totally useless. I bake 4 loaves of sourdough honey wheat oat bread. I was always guessing when they were done. This thermometer is so simple to use and it makes the bread come out at the right temperature. I never have to guess. I set it for 204 and weight for the breads internal temperature to reach that. Then it goes off. And keeps going off until you shut it off. The bread is perfectly done. To clean it, I take a cup, fill it with water and put the end in there to soften up the harden bread remaining on it. Then while I’m washing dishes I just take it out and wipe it off, rinse it and I hang the cord over it or over a magnet clip so that way the cord doesn’t get tangled and break.

This device is a game changer. Super easy to use, works perfectly. I tested it side by side to my one remaining Traeger probe (my 2nd Traeger probe stopped working) on my smoker and it matched up perfectly. The Dot can be used on the grill and in the oven for perfect cooking temperatures. Key to cooking on the smoker is to cook to temp, not time, and with the DOT you can ensure perfect cooking temps every time. Loved the ability to set an alarm for key temps and then change them on the fly.

This is fabulous. It’s something I didn’t know I needed, but I need it! Finally no more stress about over or under cooking meat. No more hovering by the oven to check the temperature. I had chicken breasts that were still a tiny bit frozen and I didn’t have to even think of how much more time to add to the cooking. This let me know as soon as they were ready without me checking several times. The DOT is simple to use. Just turn it on, set the temp and insert the probe. And I appreciate the built in magnet so I can put it on my oven door and it doesn’t get in the way on the countertop.

Fabulous! It’s not fancy, but it is extremely reliable and accurate. I didn’t need Bluetooth or cell phone enabled. I just needed a great accurate reliablethermometer and this fit the bill. On its first use, I cooked a whole beef tenderloin. It let me know when the temperature was perfect and the dinner was served to rave reviews from all of the guests. I have to give at least 80% of the credit to this little dot …there’s nothing worse than $150 piece of meat that gets overdone or is underdone this one was absolutely perfect thanks to my new dot

I like the instantaneous temperature reading. I like the fact that the thermometer is in a sturdy case with magnets to allow for placement on the refrigerator. I like the color. I like the simplicity and ease of changing the alarm temperature; and I appreciate the packaging which provides a molded area for both the thermometer and the probe.If I were to make improvements, it would be to provide a sturdy case for storage, especially due to the sharp end of the probe.This is an accurate and invaluable tool to use in making homemade yogurt.

The Dot should be a part of every cooks arsenal. This ham was juicy perfection. Temperature is accurate. Gone are the days of serving dry over cooked ham. There are multiple meat thermometers out there on the market however, I feel Thermoworks is top of the line.
