The Ultimate Mobility Bath Lift

Got this for my mother in law, perfect to help her get in and out of bath no bother.

This bath belt is almost perfect for my needs. The only issue I have is that my body does not slide along the belt when in retraction mode which is sometimes a problem as it pinches. The pad that was supplied with the unit does not help.

This very expensive item arrived with a piece of plastic missing from the remote control. Annoying but not bad enough to warrant sending it back. After paying a builder to install it, and buying new bolts because the ones they sent were unsafe to use, I finally got to use the machine. I got 3 baths before it stopped working. According to the seller, damp got in through the damage on the remote and shorted out the whole thing. The seller said he checks every unit before it leaves so how did this get missed? They are also blaming me saying if I had reported the fault immediately they could have claimed off the couriers for damage in transit. This was not possible as the remote was packed in the middle of the box surrounded by other items undamaged. They sent another unit out but it took a month of me staying in constantly waiting for their couriers to collect. Their communications were terse and they were determined to shift the blame onto a disabled customer. TO DATE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THEM CONFIRMING I HAVE RETURNED THEIR ITEM TO ENABLE ME TO RECLAIM A SIZEABLE AMOUNT IN CUSTOMS CHARGES PAID TWICE. It's a handy item to have if you need it. This has worked faultlessly for nearly three years, but recently has exhibitedan intermittent fault. Sometimes the motor would simply cut out.I opened the machine by undoing the eight small self-tapping screws at therear and removing the plastic front panel.I was impressed by the sturdiness of the mechanical construction and thinkthe Chinese are good engineers. The electronics is encapsulated forprotection against water vapour. There are two small relays (for UP andDOWN), and these are accessible for replacement if necessary.I was suspicious of the battery pack and its high current connector, and alsosuspicious of the relay contacts.The front panel wiring is connected to the main chassis via three multipolewhite plastic in-line connectors. I separated these connectors, then re-connected them. I then found that the intermittent fault had magicallydisappeared.Therefore I conclude that the fault was due to corrosion of the metal parts ofthese in-line connectors. Perhaps the manufacturer should have usedmilitary spec. connectors although the increase in cost would tend todiscourage this.

The bath lift I bought from Amazon has helped my life so much I suffer with arthritis in all my joints ok getting in the bath but couldn't get out till I got the bath lift . Marvellous invention at good value compared with other bath lifts on the market .thank you so much

Nice idea, but the pad you sit on doesn't slide well enough. On descent you have to jerk yourself round several times to stay in the middle; on ascent the device tends to wind the pad in along with the belt, and tips you over to one side.

This Bath Lift is fantastic it has opened an area that has been denied to me for a long time. I have no power in either of my legs so this had opened up the opportunity to soak in a nice warm bath.

Made in China and not the UK as is implied. Developed electrical fault after 2 uses and presents a major H & S issue for non-walking disabled. 12 months guarantee is purely for repairing, no replacement or refund will be offered. Customer Service non-existent. See photo of manufacturers label which is attached to the side of the bath lift. Battery has warning in-printed on it stating it should not be opened or it may explode or leak. Puzzled why Seller thinks that they are able to do this? Trading Standards currently looking in to whether this bath lift meets UK and EU Legislation. Writer of this ad has a good imagination when writing descriptive text, however, product does not match up to inspirational words.Gave up attempting to reach a satisfactory outcome, as fed up with ignorant responses. Paid myself to have thoroughly tested by a qualified electronic's engineer. Taught me a major lesson to always thoroughly check out any Seller of disability equipment prior to buying. Never will be caught like this ever again.
