Works great
Easy on the wallet and works great! The only two recommendations I have is for a check valve on the pump tubing to avoid a siphon from the aquarium back down to the sump. The only other suggestion I have is to keep the fill tube above the water line if you do not have a check valve. I made that mistake like a dummy😆.This auto top off system worked great for me. I used it with a 5 gallon Lowe's bucket underneath the aquarium in the cabinet.

Works Great For Tanks with Sumps ONLY
This isn't the best auto top off system for low-tech tanks or tanks without a dedicated filter compartment or sump large enough for the sensor. If the sensor is installed directly into the display, it keeps the water level quite a bit too low for my preference. This is fine in an all-in-one back chamber or a sump where the water level doesn't matter as much, but again, it won't work for tanks that use a HOB or canister filter.Setup was pretty straightforward, but the instructions were not great. The controller works well and is honestly a lot more controllable and high quality than other ATOs I've used. It's a fair bit louder than I would like, and the sensor is a lot larger and more prone to physical equipment errors than the optical sensors I prefer, and it costs more.Be very mindful of the placement of the tube that delivers the water. For the unit I recieved, the siphon break did not work properly and it backsiphoned water out of the tank and back into the container. If you position the fill tube above the water line where it will never be submerged, that isn't an issue, but if that is not an option then you will definitely need to buy a better siphon break.Overall, this is the second worst auto top off I've used, second only to the gravity fed plastic water bottle variety. It doesn't work well in all tanks, is bulkier than necessary, and has too many moving parts prone to failure. While it gets the job done, I prefer optical sensors more and don't plan on using this ATO long-term.

Not too shabby
Pump isn’t too crazy noisy not to mention the intake is on the bottom of the pump making it harder to run dry. Easy to assemble and seems to working fine. The only gripe I have is the bracket that holds the float since it is super plastic it is easily broken but just be careful tightening the screw to hold it to the tank and you’ll be fine. The controller also has buttons on it so if you don’t feel comfortable leaving it on all the time you can use it as manual top off as well. Has a refill, pause, and stop feature. All in all honestly surprised how well it’s working for the money just hoping it holds up.

Works fine
I've transitioned to optical sensors, but I can always use more ato's as I have 12 nano tanks currently and info like to try different equipment. It works as it's supposed to. Easy enough to put together, but there is significant cord management to navigate. Does what it's supposed to. The pump is a bit noisy, but it only activates for a few seconds in my nano tanks. As another reviewer has mentioned, without modification to the bracket, the float has to sit pretty low in the tank/sump/aio reservoir, which does limit its applications. Not a deal breaker, just something to keep in mind. I've got a few nano tanks that aren't aio that I cannot use this for. Overall it's fine. At the current price point I prefer some of the optical sensor options.

Backflow. It will empty your tank just fine.
Pros:Very quiet pump. I wish more pumps were this quiet. It does top off and to where you manage to set it.Cons:Bad instructions. Very tiny instructions and it does not cover everything. For the sensor, you had to find the picture on the front of the pamplet to figure out the bracket. For my tank, I still had to flip a part upside down to keep the sensor from hanging too low. For many tanks, I can see where this will be needed. I do not want my water level 6 inches below the rim. I also had to play with it to determine where the sensor decided it would activate the unit. It turned out it barely needed to be pushed up. So that was going to determine where on its hanging bracket it would need to be. A few other things were also not immediately clear. If this is your first system like this, it will take some head scratching. You will get there, but it would not be hard to do better. for instructions.Back flow! The siphon break did not work. I barely caught this in time. It was positioned where the instructions barely directed it to be. But as soon as the pump stopped, the back flow was intense. No amount of air from the break stopped it. The pump had to work hard against the flow when it came back on. This would be constantly running until it gave out.I really wanted this to work. I would need to find something to add to this better than what they included to stop the back flow. Keeping the extra water tank above the fish tank is not an option and also it was not shown in their ad to have to be that way. Right now I am done with it.It fills up the aquarium well. It emptied it better. I gave it more than one star because it has potential. Fix the one part and... maybe. If there is serious user error, I would not know by going over their instructions. I did everything it said. Before the review, I made sure of it. Get something with at least a check valve instead.
