Out of the box it was decently sharp, though I’d still recommend running a stone over it to really dial it in. It feels durable and the weight is nicely balanced. It just feels good in the hand. For the price it's a great value and will definitely get the job done whether you're splitting, chopping, or cutting.

I just needed a hatchet for chopping up some of the thinner pieces of wood for the fireplace. I wanted something that would last so I figured a full tang was a good place to start. Not sure how long this will last but its sharp, well made and the blade won't be lying off anytime soon. This is a really nice hatchet for the money. Not to mention it looks good too. Worth every penny and that dang thing is razor sharp.

I keep this axe near my fireplace to make kindling as I need it.It has a nice plastic cover that locks over the blade when not in use to not only protect it from damage, but protects my pets from hurting themselves if they were to knock it down or step on it.This axe is small, but nicely weighted.I am a woman in my 50's and find it very easy to handle.Would recommend.

The scabbard does not fit easily on the head. The metal work is lumpy. I'm sending it back. It would likely do the job but I can get a better one for half the money

I love this hatchet and use it often for gardening work. It's compact but well made and heavy duty. It is sharp. It comes with a protections cover for safe storage and transport.
