I like my coffee on the strong side so didn't hold much hope for this but thought I'd give it a try as I need to find a coffee substitute. I do really like this drink. I forget it's not coffee! Yes, it's milder but it's nice and I'm going to stick with it from now on.

Good alternative
Its good stuff if you want a change from coffee or dont drink it like us. WE drink it all the time along with "Whole Earth".

Lovely! But not a dupe for real coffee.
I bought this for a relaxing drink that doesn't contain caffeine or stain my teeth. It tastes lovely, almost like Ovaltine when made weakly, but has more of a coffee taste when made stronger. If you're a coffee connoisseur, it might not be for you, as it definitely tastes more instant coffee than the proper stuff, but for a no nasties, comforting drink, it's perfect.

A coffee substitute but a great drink in its own right
I first encountered Barleycup about 30 years ago when a consultant recommended it as a drink that couldn't cause allergic reactions. I found it really nice and I still drink it now. It's basically intended to be a coffee substitute but it's a really pleasant drink in its own right.
