Really pleasantly surprised with quality and effectiveness
My old GHD IV had clapped out and I was dithering between shelling out for a new one (120 eur just to replace with the same 10+ year old model, not even upgrading to a new version) as I know that GHD has always been pretty much the gold standard in quality for straighteners. Regardless, it was killing me to fork over that much so I made a snap decision based on the reviews of this and the fact that at the time it was reduced on Amazon to maybe 50 euro? No sooner had I pressed the buy button than the buyer's remorse began - "buy cheap buy twice" etc etc. Well! I am happy to say that this has 100% been an upgrade to my old GHD. For information, I have medium thickness wavy hair with a tendency to frizz - it is not super tight and curly and takes heat well. Some of the main points of note that I am delighted with:1. it takes about 5 mins to straighten my hair to poker straight and it stays pretty straight for a few days; the odd wave here and there if is humid etc but largely only needs to be straightened once for 2/3 days2. Heat settings - the available heat settings are an upgrade from the GHD which I believe only goes to 180 celsius. I use this at 200 and the added heat and the plate quality means my wavy hair is straight in one stroke, reducing the heat exposure. I believe it has the capacity to go higher too for hair with more resistance!3. Plates - there is NO drag on these plates. The feeling of it going through your hair is so smooth compared to my old GHD that I thought maybe I didn't have enough hair in the plate of something and that it couldn't possibly be straightening it as there was no "pull" on the hair.4. Breakage/hair damage - used to have a lap full of broken hair after straightening with the GHD. There is of course still some hair fall here as you are using a heated product but nothing by comparison - I assume this is down to the lack of drag on the hair from the plates and the fact that with the higher heat you need to go over the sections less. Finally re the keratin/rose oil option - I 100% thought this was a load of markety waffle (how could this be in a straightener) but it definitely does do something - for me it isn't really necessary as the oil weighs down my hair type but there is certainly SOMETHING happening on this setting - I would imagine it would class for drier, curlier hair types to protect and reduce frizz. I looked a little like I had oiled my head but I can't dispute that it definitely does what it says on the tin!All in all - v impressed. Have had it for a few months now so the last test will be the longevity compared to the GHD, which to be fair, is the Nokia 3310 of straighteners.

Good Product - Good Value
Love these straighteners - Heat up quickly and have the hair protection built in - for hair straighteners not very expensive so good value for money - easy to use and doesn't take long to finish straightening my hair

Remington straightener
Very good straightener. Heats up quickly, does not damage hair and you can make curls. Good price, does not take up much space. I recommend

Straighten as well as GHD
My GHD straighteners broke so after reading reviews, decided to go with a cheaper option and buy these. They straighten my thick, curly hair really well and leave my hair feeling very shiny. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is because the straighteners themselves get very hot and if you don’t hold them very carefully they are too hot to hold.

Excellent
I've never had Remington straighteners before but there were a bargain. I was desperate for new ones as my last ones overheated and broke. They take about a minute to heat up but my hair was poker straight and smooth with the keratin. You do not need the high heat setting unlike other top brands which is good. You can switch the keratin on or off which is great. My hair stayed straight all day. Would def recommend.

Affordable and brilliant Remington straighteners
I use this product at 180 degrees which is still very hot for thick, shoulder length and unruly hair like mine. I think any hotter, then my hair would start sustaining damage. I previously used ghd straighteners which did end up damaging parts of my hair and making it look lanky and flat. While both straighteners add a certain shiny sheen to my hair, the Remington seems to enable my hair to retain its natural bounce by the handy adjustable temp setting. I would say don’t use it at more than 180 degrees unless you are going on a night out and need the style to hold a bit longer. I have seen first-hand the damage to my own hair through hot styling products. An occasional use of the very hot setting I imagine would be okay, but I can feel the heat emitting from this device at just 180, so I haven’t used the hottest setting yet.You can also lock the temperature if needed. Although, I never have these on for long enough to do so.It does require patience if you want to achieve wavy or other fancy styles (approx 15-20 minutes), but for my purpose to have smoother hair, the Remington does the trick. I have been complimented by others thinking I went to the salon. On the whole, I am really glad I went for this product. I’ve only had it a few weeks, but it’s been easy on my hair (and wallet!) so far.

Basic and bulky
You get what you pay for. The casing feels cheap and bulky and the plates don’t close tightly enough to capture small clumps of hair. I curl my hair using straighteners and it’s not so easy with these. That said, for the money, if you want basic straighteners these will do.
