Excellent
Excellent product. It gave life to my device not connected to internet. Support is awesome and knowledgeable.

Works as advertised
Very easy to setup, works great. The only reason why this is not a 5 star review is that nowhere in the documentation that comes with the device does it indicate that it operates on TCP/IP port 4999, I spent abut 30 minutes before I found this on the Global Cache website

Easy to use, gets the job done.
I use this as part of a control system in my theater. I wanted to use something that would eliminate the need for an IR blaster to be stuck on the front of the piece of equipment I was trying to control. This got the job done and it took pry 15 minutes from start to finish to install, grab an IP and be ready to control.

Worked right out of the box and I had a home automation integration up in less than 5 minutes
Can;'t say enough about this IP to serial device. Spent hours trying to make another manufacturers IP to serial work with no avail and the Global Cache was set up in a few minutes. Buy this and save your time and nerves.

Does not Work
It simple won't connect to virtual com port. I've tried multiple programs including the ones recommended on Global Caches support and it doesn't work. And it is beyond my return date. Piece of junk

Home Automation is Peak 1980s Tech!
In my 1980s visions of the future, I imagined a lot for things for 2020, but programming programming serial commands to an RS232 port was not one them. While a 9 pin serial port in 2020 seems like an astounding anachronism, it's still the only way to control my Monoprice 6-zone home audio amplifier, and this little gadget does the job of connecting to DHCP server, exposing a web page for control and configuration, and accepting network commands to send hex codes over serial. You might use Martijn Rijnbeek's i-Test freeware to test your hardware, and remember to distinguish between the three different ports (4999, 4999, 5000), and if you're using it to control home audio with in iOS device, I recommend the "Monoprice Whole Home Audio" app by "HomeAudio Control".Thank you Global Cache for making this obscure little product!

Great Technical Support
I purchased this unit to replace a stand-alone computer in our office boiler room that controlled an older 1990s Johnson Controls Megasys Controller. We connected using Windows XP HyperTerminal software and a serial cable connected directly to the system. Now I can login anywhere on the network using Windows 7 and HyperTerminal Software (I copied 3 HT files needed from the XP machine). The included iHelp software quickly gave me the IP address of unit. Using that IP address and a TCP/IP connection in HT on port 4999 I was able to connect to HVAC control system.I used a web browser to connect to and configure the unit for needed baud rate settings etc..I can't say enough about Global Cache's Technical support. They quickly responded and helped walk a novice like me through this setup.
