I actually put this in the middle of the tree because I can’t resist new Twinkly products and I already had a tree topper. So fun and now I want them all throughout the tree. Definitely blends well with the other lights and I had already mapped the tree prior to putting this on.

This tree is decorated with 5 twinkly strings and the topper.Great thing about the star topper is that you can join it to a Twinkly group for extending the design and patterns. Good functionality, brightness and color or pattern control.Dislikes include that they don’t include a USB-C adapter (at this price!?) and one star off for being relatively flat. The Illumination looks good from front and back, but sides are a disappointment.Overall I believe it’s worth it if you’re combining it with other Twinkly products.

It’s a decent enough tree topper, but the smart home features are why I bought it and it could be a lot better. It doesn’t seem to have an option to integrate with the tree lights; instead you have to treat them as two separate things. You can’t set a color set and have it apply to both automatically, you have to do it one at a time. Similarly, it would be ideal if you turn the Christmas tree lights on the topper kicked on as well. While the Twinkly tree lights support HomeKit, the topper does not, so it leads to situations where one is on but not the other. I tried to fix this with an Alexa automation where is one turned on it would turn on the other, but sadly they don’t show up in the Alexa app as a trigger. I can create a routine to turn them both on with a command, but not “if one is turned on do something”. As a workaround for this you can plug it into a smart plug and have it work with either ecosystem just fine.

Great topper to go with our Twinkly tree. Nice to be able to group it with tree for continuous effects. Nicely packed as well. Very easy to set up and even has a support for the topper to stay tightly on the tree.

Amazing, and combining it with the light stripes are just better

If you own a Christmas tree adorned with Twinkly lights, and don't mind the eclectic design of this tree topper, it's definitely a worthwhile addition to your tree decor. It is constructed out of plastic, but feels fairly sturdy. The lighting effect is supported by a single strand of 76 RGB LEDs.Use of the Twinkly app. is fairly straightforward, and this tree topper works well with other Twinkly lights to provide dazzling light effects and patterns.I did run into a hiccup when initially pairing the topper to my phone, as the app. repeatedly indicated that it had lost Bluetooth communications after WiFi pairing (which is normal, as Bluetooth is only used to facilitate WiFi pairing). Each time the popup notification was dismissed, I had to restart the pairing process. After a few tries I was able to progress past this issue.There is a Twinkly integration for Home Assistant, though at this time, it appears to be fairly buggy, with multiple users reporting problems. I installed the Twinkly integration and it immediately recognized the tree topper and began reporting on/off status, but there is no control available and it indicates that the entity is unavailable.
