PROs and CONs of this unit
After about 18 years using various Cruisinart coffee makers, I decided to go with this Ninja unit instead. Lots of Pros and a few Cons with this unit, but overall, I am pleased with my choice....PROs:I like the detachable water reservoir. Makes it easy to fill the unit with water without risking spillage. Nice feature.FINALLY! A drip coffee maker that actually brews a good HOT cup of coffee. Most of other units I've tried make a luke=warm cup, but this one makes one that is actually hot!Like the idea of being able to brew a pot or an individual cup of coffee, without having to use a K-cup. (I absolutely HATE K-cups!)It's programmable so, if set properly, you'll wake up with a freshly brewed pot of coffee. (More on this later.)It can make 12-cup pot of coffee. Most other units only make 10.Although a bit larger than other coffee makers, it does look good on the kitchen counter.Large,brightly-lit display, which makes it easy to set the time and delay brew options.CONS:If you're brewing a pot of coffee, you have only 2 choices: a half-pot (6 cups) or a full-pot (12 cups)! There is no in-between. Wish there were an option to make 4, 5,or other sized pots of coffee. The instructions are very much lacking. It took me 3 days to figure out how to set the delayed brew cycle and only then after I viewed a Youtube video.Electrical cord is short and there is a warning not to use an extention cord with this unit. So you need to put this unit close to an electrical outlet.Overall, this unit is worth the investment, despite the few shortcomings I mentioned.
