SPOILER ALERT
This is perhaps the best of the trilogy. The book really keeps you hooked once you pick it up. The writing style is interesting if not incredible. The story build up is exciting and you do want to go through the pages. This book alone is 5 STAR+.SPOILER ALERT:If this was a stand alone book, this would have been a fantastic read and don't get me wrong, this is. Though considering this is a trilogy, it is really sad that the gripping narration and fast paced story line of this book is not carried to the other two. The timing for introducing suspense and excitement is bang on in this one, in the other two it is a very long drag! The second book is the worst of all. It becomes tiring after the first 5th of the book. You feel and realize that this book is more of a filler - a page filler, to make a trilogy out of it. The book loses it's excitement, due to the predictable "surprise elements" and just drags on and on. Too much drama, romance and ill fitting thriller sections - for no reason at all. Took me over a week to finish it. It felt like a very boring assignment that you have to finish so you can move on to the next, hoping it to be better. The third book gets better, than the second - but it is very easy to get better than the second, so it doesn't say much about the third book either. The writing style that was so encapsulating in the first book comes back here in bits and pieces, but this book is nowhere close to the first. Full of boring and unnecessary passages.Overall, I feel, that this trilogy could have been ended at least 2 books earlier; and I believe this could have been one to keep forever and pass it on for generations, but, the NEED for a TRILOGY has definitely overtaken the the requirement for good material. Alas! The writer has talent, this could have been so much better.

Page Turner!!
The book was in very good condition. The illustrations are spooky and the story is quite thrilling. It's ya, paranormal, mystery, funny and sometimes just gory horror. Overall nice!Plus, I'm down right disappointed because I bought more than 10 books but didn't got a single bookmark which is intolerable(that's why 4 stars only) . Hope that never happens again.

I'm actually saddened when I say that I didn't like this book as I thought I would have
“I slammed out of the house and started walking, heading nowhere in particular. Sometimes you just need to go through a door.”Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children is the first book in the series.I had heard a lot of positive reviews about this book, so I decided to give it a try.The book is about a sixteen year old Jacob who admires his grandfather a lot. But a few chapters into the book, his grandfather dies. He utters certain mysterious words before dying which lead Jacob to an island. On the island, he finds Miss Peregrine who lives with orphaned children who have peculiar qualities. He befriends them and fights with monsters to protect them. Later, he has to make an important decision about if he should live with Miss Peregrine and the peculiar children and leave his parents or lead his grandfather’s life. I will not give further details as they become a part of a spoiler. But, I'm actually saddened when I say that I didn't like this book as I thought I would have. Maybe, I dove in with a lot of expectations and as they say “expectations are the root of all sadness”But, I appreciate the ambience that the book created. Not to lie, I loved the plot, the concept,it was definitely unique.Another thing that I did like was the photographs in the book, they were simply AMAZING. Also, the main reason why I picked this book is because it felt so good in my hands. There were certain parts that I thoroughly enjoyed, I loved the way of writing in this book. There were A LOTT of new (sometimes complicated) words that I got to learn. So, I guess, I would say I didn't completely dislike this book but I don't think I'll be picking up the second book of the series!

MARVELLOUS BOOK
THIS IS A FANTASTIC BOOK. THERE ARE MANY PICTURES OF THE CHILDREN WHICH ARE REAL (when you finished the book the last three or four pages has the interview). AFTER REALIZING THAT THE PICS WERE REAL I BELIEVED THE STORY AND ALL THE CHARACTERS. I HAD TO REPEAT TO MYSELF THAT THIS IS NOT REAL AND IT TOOK ME A FEW DAYS TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS JUST THE CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION OF A PERSON.THE SITUATIONS ARE PERFECTLY DESCRIBED AND YOU CAN PICTURE IT IN YOUR MIND.THIS BOOK IS ABOUT A BOY NAMED JACOB WHOSE GRANDFATHER ALWAYS TELLS STORIES ABOUT HIS PAST. ON HIS DEATHBED HE WANTS JACOB TO FIND THE HOME WHERE HE SPENT HIS CHILDHOOD AND UNCOVER SECRETS.IT WAS A HOME FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL ABILITIES WHO HAD TO BE HIDDEN FROM COMMON PEOPLE. SO MISS PEREGRINE STARTED A HOME FOR THESE CHILDREN. ONLY CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL AND PECULIAR ABILITIES CAN GO THROUGH THE TIME LOOP. IT HAS CREEPY CHARACTERS WHICH MAKES THE STORY EVEN MORE THRILLING.RIGGS WAS INSPIRED BY THE PHOTOGRAPHS AND WANTED AN EXPLANATION . WHEN HE COULDN'T FIND AN EXPLANATION HE DECIDED TO GIVE AN EXPLANATION HIMSELF IN THE FORM OF A STORY. THE PHOTOS ARE STRANGE AND UNBELIEVABLE BUT RIGGS STATES THAT THEY ARE REAL. I GIVE A THUMBS UP TO THE AUTHOR FOR HIS EXPLANATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A magical journey
Truly magical! I loved the plot as much as the vivid descriptions of the settings and landscapes and the abilities of the peculiar children.

Gripping
Contrary to my expectations of this being a spooky story, it didn't scare me at all. But that isn't to say it wasn't great. I absolutely loved this book. I really enjoyed how the pictures tied in with the story. It was highly engrossing and the premise was entirely original. And this isn't that big of a spoiler, but time travel! - who can resist a book with time travel? Definitely picking up the sequel ASAP!
