AutoExec AUE10020 GripMaster Car Desk Birch Finish (Original Finish)

Husband's job requires he sits in his vehicle 12 hrs/day... he was planning to try to rig something up to organize papers, laptop and other essentials for his job. Knowing I can find most anything on Amazon, I searched and found this. He's thrilled with it. I asked him questions based on other reviews: No rattles and pull out desk stays in place but is easy to pull out. The storage underneath holds a lot and there's a lip that keeps them from falling out! It cannot hurt the seat as it is a smooth finish and rounded (no sharp edges).Note: His vehicle is a F150 Lariat... the pull out desk needs about another 1.5 inches height to clear center console. Nothing a mat to boost it up a bit won't fix, as pictured.

I have been in the process of moving out of my office and into my Jeep, so was excited to get this desk today. I have not had the chance to use it yet, however my first impressions are very good. The grip on the top board was not on the desk when it arrived. I located the phone number of the manufacturer and called them immediately. The gentleman who answered the phone went above and beyond to "make it right". Their customer service is excellent. The unit looks to be very well built and has a solid feel to it. The wood grain and finish make it look like a very nice piece of "office furniture". I already have an inverter, so I ordered the version that does not have one built in. When I was visiting with the manufacturer's rep, he was extremely helpful with suggestions about how to attach it to the desk.Based upon my initial inspection of the Car Desk, and my interaction with the manufacturer, I would highly recommend the product and the seller without any hesitation.Update: The grip pad was shipped out to me very quickly, and I have installed it already. I have had the opportunity to look the unit over some more, and use it. I am very impressed! The build is very solid, and it fits very well in the passenger seat of my Jeep Liberty. The pull out tray is very nice for holding notepads or business cards while I use the laptop. The only downside is that my Laptop will not fit in the lower compartment sideways, for hiding it while I am out of the vehicle. I expected this when I ordered the desk because my laptop is rather large. I just turn it length wise and then throw a jacket or papers over the part that sticks out. All in all, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who plans to work out of your vehicle.

Using this for a work station as a home health nurse, works very well, I did have to put a larger rubber pad on top of station, but with that everything stays in place pretty good except for a notebook. I am able to chart on my iPad in my car when I pull over between patients. It seat belts in so it does not slide around. Made my job easier, portable so when I want to drive with passengers on off time, can take of out seat quickly.

I was setting up a mobile Office. I need a place to organise into work on paperwork. This thing is awesome. You could use it in the front seat and use it from the drivers seat, but I put mine in the back and have my laptop on top of the main Desk platform and slide out the second desktop for my paperwork. All of my stuff is nicely organised and at hand. I love it seatbelts in for safety. I’m not sure how I ever lived without this! I travel and Work out of my car every day and this has been amazing to use! Great quality!

This unit is awesome!! Plenty of room and storage. Love the wood!! Nice writing surface as well as I can access my forms conveniently. Highly recommend this to anyone!!!

I'm a salesman and my SUV is my office. I purchased the AutoExec to help with organization and to provide a stable work station for using my laptop. The AutoExec is solidly built and fits comfortably in SUV's front passenger seat. The AutoExec as two desktop surfaces. The top one is fine, it's the bottom one that is the cause of the two star rating. It's almost impossible to pull out. I literally have to reach inside the unit and pull the desktop surface from behind and force it to open. I checked the instructions to to make sure I didn't miss something, but there's nothing you need to do to this unit in order for it work. I even tried a dry, colorless Teflon lubricant and that didn't help. I'm probably going to return the unit and look for an alternative.

Great product and very handy except for one issue. I have noticed, and I believe when it is hotter outside, that the second shelf that slides out seems to come off it tracks and is difficult to move. I think what is happening is the plastic framing is getting soft from the high heat in my vehicle and it is expanding the gap. Other than that it is very useful.

I put this in the center seat of my dodge ram and folded up the center console. So I can't use the center console while it's there but it's also easy to move if I need. I also can't use my cup holders now, but I don't really miss them. Even though I lose storage by not using my center console on a daily basis, I gain a much more organized system. I love the file holding area. I no longer have papers orbiting the inside of my truck. I also like how it sits higher than my center console did making writing on it more natural. I might have moved the non-slip pad to the far edge, but not a big deal. The slide out writing area works well. My small bluetooth keyboard fits on it well. This car desk is pretty light, but stays in place well with the seat belt. A little spendy, but it's a specialty item and it serves it's purpose really well. I'm glad I got it and would recommend it.
