Less than 1000mAh, but Still a Useful Pair of Lithium Cells to Power Projects, Models & Experiments
The media could not be loaded. The suppliers of these cells don’t seem too sure what chemistry they use. Some of the paperwork refers to LiPO and elsewhere, including on the cells themselves they are Li-ion. Whatever they are the kit comes with two chargers which presumably matches the cells’ needs. Each cell is about the same size as an AA NiMH, but they are higher voltage (3.7V) and need to be connected by the attached cable to whatever they are powering. The name of the specific plug that is used in this kit is not mentioned on the box or instructions, but the listing refers to it as a “JST-2P”, there are many to choose from, but I have shown a picture of it with accurate measurements, so you can see if it matches what you need. There is an instruction sheet highlighting the dangers of misusing these cells and recommended ways of storing them. Irrespective of this they are supplied in bubble wrap inside a cardboard box, so I guess they are expected to be safe!I fully charged the cells using the two USB-A chargers that came with them. A red LED indicated they were charging. The chargers did not work in one of my QC power sources, but they did in all the others - be aware that not all chargers will power them. It is good that two power adapters are supplied allowing both cells to be charged at once and these will probably be suitable for other 3.7V cells in your collection if the plugs match (watch the polarity if doing this). The quoted capacity of these cells is 1000mAh, which is not very high compared to AA NiMH, but it must be remembered that this is available at 3.7V giving 3700mWh - a 1.2V NiMH would have to have a capacity of 3083mAh to have this amount, so the energy density is much higher; as is the power-to-weight ratio. If you are into flying, the cells in this kit weigh 21.7g compared to 27.2g for NiMH.I tested the capacity of both cells using an ZB2L3 Ah meter. Unfortunately the cells were not 1000mAh they were 687mAh. This was not totally unexpected. It appears to be an industry practice to inflate cell capacities in advertisements, but it is regrettable that has been done in this case, where the product is aimed at hobbyists.I tested both cells and they were substantially the same. I used a discharge current of 530mA which is a bit higher than would be normally used for comparative tests, but in keeping with what they will be expected to give when used in RC models.I have dropped a star because of the inflated capacity claims, but in other respects this is a useful addition to your project box and the provision of two chargers is a bonus. A couple of wired plugs would also have been nice!

Amzzn 2pcs 3.7V Batteries
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. Below is my own real-world experience of using it.I was particularly drawn to the set, as my children have lots of RC cars that always need batteries, and it seemed like the Amazzn ones would be a like-for-like replacement for the original parts. To that end, we have had no issues using them, they power the cars at the same level, and don’t take too long to recharge. The individual charging cables included for each, are also very useful. In summary, a good value item.
