I look forward every day to transform food waste into something useful!
Excellent machine. My niece has a rented machine which is great (other brand), but I believe my composter is of equal quality and if you get in on sale, a bargain compared to my niece’s. I have used the machine 5 times and I only got it 6 days ago. I no longer feel guilty about throwing out my egg shells, used coffee grinds, peels etc. Citrus peels and coffee give the compost a great smell. One of the 5 times used the machine I did not take the compost out until the next day, and that was a mistake because I did not end with the powdery fibrous great compost I got the other times, but more of a solid compost that had dried: my mistake. I am still learning, but I now have a jar full of great, dry compost and have already used some of this on my blueberry plant. I look forward every day to use my “refuse” and turn it into something useful.

Easy Peasy
Easy set up with well written instructions. I added the recommended food scraps, pushed auto button, composter was weighing and decided on time it needs to compost. It choose 4 hours and it is working very quietly. Now it’s time to wait for the end product and I will share picture of it later. The machine is a bit heavy but still easy enough to handle and of good quality. During composting the outside and lid are warm to the touch and warm air escapes through the vent in the lid not warm enough to cause any burns. So far I‘m happy with the product and hope it composts like promised.

Product seems to work so far, but user manual is really bad
Updated 10/31/2024Now I have used it a dozen times, the results seem generally ok. Again, depending on the moisture level of the raw materials you put into the machine, the end product may come out like wet clay. Ditto for anything that's oily. For instance, if you put in say, beef or pork fat that you cut off from the roast, then your end product would feel like an oily dough! Otherwise, it works.I can also confirm that the machine indeed is noisy. Recently it started to make some cranking noise. I start it before I go to bed. So it's not an issue. But if you use it while you want to have a conversation or watch TV, it could be a problem. Finally, the finish on the bottom of the removable pail seems to be scraping off. Not sure why. Same for the base of the outer shell of the machine. The peeling paint does not seem to impact the machine's function, but it may be an indication of the make quality of the product._____Original review:Just got product a week ago.First impression:1) Looks good, nice fit and finish. Seems like a quality product.2) It's big! On the plus side, this big size meets the need of our heavy cooking. On the down side, it's quite conspicuous on the counter. We have the space, but still, it looks big3) Noise: It's NOT quiet. You can definitely hear it. But it's not annoyingly loud. Plus, we run it when we go to bed. So, not a big problem.4) The materials post-process: We used it twice. The first one was a "fail". The materials came out wet and clay like. But I think it was because we set it for too short (1 hour) of a "cook". The second try was a success. We got dry, fluffy inert materials at the end of the process. This time we set it to the max (3 hours) for the batch. I blame the first fail on the incomprehensible and incomplete instruction manual, which does not explain at all how you're supposed to set the process duration. (See more comments on the manual below.)Overall, I'm still hopeful that the machine will work out, once we can figure out how to use it. The biggest "ding" I will give this product is the horrible user manual. It's clearly written by a non-native English speaker. Terminology is odd, and instructions are unclear and incomplete. For example, it talks about the "Fermentation Mode" and asks you to use "1 compost accelerator" but does not explain where you will find the accelerator (it does not come with the machine), nor what "1" means? 1 oz? 1 table spoon? For "manual mode", it tells you to "select the desired duration of 1-6 hours", but it does not explain what criteria you should use to pick the right duration. As it turns out, it seems that depending on the amount of waste you have in the bin, your process time should be adjusted. The more waste, the longer. If you pick a process time that's too short for the amount of waste, what you'll get is a wet, clay like mess! But the manual does not explain any of that! Right now, I'm simply guessing how I'm supposed to use this product. The verdict is still out if this will work out in the long run. Will keep you posted.

Avid outdoor composter moves into a condo - viola - kitchen composter
The kitchen composter was heavier than I expected, but a fairly compact size. I've only used it once, but I was amazed at how the full bucket turned into such a small amount. It was not noisy, just a low hum and a good size bucket for our house. I saved all the kitchen waste from one day and it filled the bucket. I'm excited to use the compost for my garden. I do have a few questions from reading the manual which I hope I will find answers to on the company website.
