Wow I was not expecting this meter to really work all that well. This is so simple and easy to use that you can't really go wrong by buying this if you need it. It has a backlit display, and it is powered by the solar panel that you are testing. Easy operations in either manual or automatic testing, to show the stats of your solar panel. I highly recommend buying this if you need to test any solar panels for your work or home.

Returned wont do an array

voltage is not good to test the value of a solar panel. This tells you the watts your going to get and you can put the panel in direct sunlight to test. Everyone says cracked from hail work as good as not cracked, I beg to differ and would not know without this tool. just remember only test 1 panel at a time or you will fry it. Voltage will fry it.

Works without internal battery on even slightest solar input.

I've only used it on 2 Solar panels so far, but it gives good readings on Voltage and Watts output. Simple to use and good display.

The unit itself works just fine, but the cheap, black cable that attaches to the panel is defective. Either it wasn't assembled correctly or there's a broken wire. The screen of the meter stays blank until I wiggle the wire at the panel connector, and then I have to hold it steady, or it shuts off again. Very frustrating. Just be aware that the cables are very cheaply made
