Making Faces: A First Book of Emotions (Baby Loves Books)

Great visual Montessori style emotion book
My daughters first emotion book (bought at 18 months old) and she still loves going through it a year later and getting me what emotions the faces are showing and acting them out.

Brilliant book!
The book is just brilliant! The realistic images of the children grabbed my toddler's attention from the first moment. I bought it as a birthday present for him and he still enjoys looking at it.He is too young to match the faces with the activities (13 months now) but it's a nice way to introduce him to emotions. Lately, I am addressing his emotions and I will present him the mirror in the last page of the book so for him to relate what I am addressing with his own reaction. I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely book but could be better
This is a great book but my only criticism would be that the emotions don't come across very clearly. DK books are better in that respect. Also I wonder if the surprised baby is so surprised because her ears were pierced without her consent...

Really helped my children
This book is great for teaching your children emotions, withing a few days my children were copying all the faces and loved looking at themselves in the mirror. Was a great one for them to read alone or with an adult! Would recommend

Real Photos
Our one year old loves this book. Enjoys looking at real photos of other babies. Plus the inclusion of babies of all skin colours is great. The only fault in our eyes is a few of the emotions are a bit different than we would say they were, or confusing.

A perfect introduction to emotions
I bought this for my son when he was 9 or 10 months old. He’s a year old this week and still absolutely loves it! He adores looking at the different baby faces, and then making his own faces in the mirror at the back of the book. It’s brilliant for them to hear the vocabulary that goes along with each emotion too. I think this book still has so much mileage in it well into the toddler years - the pages ask you to find one particular face amongst several, and to make a particular face. Several of my friends have asked me about where I got this book: I highly recommend it!

Nice with real images but they aren’t all that obvious
I like this book with the real images, and it’s a simple introduction into emotions. However, the faces really aren’t the most obvious, the angry one looks sad etc. so it’s rather confusing for little ones.
