LISTEN UP!
I only have this radio for a short time and although I am not yet familiar with all the features that it has I can express my thoughts on a number of the options that I am using. This radio is fast becoming my constant companion and it can't be beat for such great quality at an affordable price. This compact AM/FM/ SHORTWAVE/WB radio is perfect for me. I'm up in years and my eyes are not as sharp as they once were. The large, easy to read BACKLIT DISPLAY is a great help. I have arthritis in both hands and it's difficult for me to make a fist so weight really matters. The fold down handle makes it easy for me to cradle the unit in either hand and this unit weighs less than 3lbs even with 4 "D" batteries.I really like the weather band, WB is the same as NOAA which is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. I live in the northeast section of the USA and the weather here changes quickly and constantly. I always check the weather throughout the day and especially when I'm planning to leave the house. This station gives accurate up to the minute weather information for any region you're interested in.The HEADPHONE JACK comes in handy as I like to listen to shortwave stations late at night. I have listened to stations in Italy, France, Germany, Mexico, So. America and Canada, although I don't always understand what they're saying. That's when I use the SLEEP TIMER as I sometime fall asleep that late. I can set the timer for up to 90 minutes. I also use the headphones so as not to disturb others and again when I'm on the computer. I don't normally need the ANTENNA except when I'm on shortwave. I'm amazed at how many stations that I can pick up. The SEARCH feature is a great help and once I tune in on a station I use the MEMORY button to save it. (A shortwave frequency list and SHORT-WAVE.INFO is available on the internet.)A USB cord is included to charge the internal lithium battery and you can switch power from the internal battery to the "D" batteries. The display alerts to how much power is available from either source. There is also a slot for a SD card so that you can access your favorite recordings through the radio's speaker.I had to give up watching football because I don't want to pay for the high cost of subscription TV stations. When I received this radio I realized that I am able to listen to the play by play of the games in real time.I have listed some of the reasons why I really like and enjoy this radio. I suggest that when you get this radio you take the time to go through the enclosed User Manual as it is all inclusive and explains each and every feature in easy to follow detail. I highly recommend this unit and will probably have to purchase another one if my nephew doesn't stop borrowing this one.

All good
It’s just what it said it would be. It arrived June 1 and put it on charge. Here it is June 8 and battery still strong. I found all the channels and then wrote down their two digit codes. Just press 3 and then the code. All good. Glad I bought it

Clear radio soind, but mp3 pops!
Hi, I'm a millennial who uses this for background noise. I usually keep it on a local classical station. I also make wide use of the mp3 feature. I added a bunch of minimal industrial techno to get a good droning and non-descript beat in the background while I concentrate on something. It's nice to have a dedicated device for this so that I can leave my phone in the other room.I have no audio issues with the radio feature. But there is a significant issue with the mp3 feature. Little pops. They aren't super distracting, and given the nature of the music I listen to, its almost able to be ignored. But it is very disappointing that at any volume level the slight pops of the device trying to transcribe the digital file into analog audio is unavoidable. These are mp3 files which sound fine and are not corrupted on any other device... this one just doesn't seem to be capable of handling the job of playing mp3s clearly?Oh well, it was inexpensive and I can always switch back to the classical radio stations. The battery life ia very good. Maybe 8 hours on low volume to go from a full charge to 75%. I bet the battery would drain faster if you had it at max volume.

Full featured radio
Good quality radio. Picks up distant stations well. Plenty of memory presets. Surprisingly easy to learn with the supplied manual. Better than most in this price range. Power options are a nice feature. Highly recommend it.

This radio is junk
I am greatly disturbed that Amazon would actually sell such a crap product as this defective "radio". The specific reason for the product's complete failure is provided below. This part of my message is that somehow quality control has failed at Amazon to the extent that you are selling crap not "fit for purpose". The problem is that this failure makes me suspect other similar products from you. If this is extensive enough , or, goes on long enough, customers like me may have to abandon purchases using Amazon and it could effect your reputation. If I were you, I would look into the practices of the purchasing department, and, the quality control dept ( if you have one).My findings.Note that I have worked for over 40 years as a physicist and engineer so I am knowledgeable regarding design problems. I tested the radio a little bit over three days thinking that I could figure it out. It looked like a radio; the user guide discussed all the buttons, I charged it properly. But, alas, the radio is crap.1) the radio has virtually no sensitivity. I live in the NYC area and expect perhaps 200 + AM stations to be received with clarity. Instead, a scan shows up only about 6 - and most of them have high static.TOTAL FAILURE. It will not even tune to all the most powerful transmitters in NY.2) the SW band produced no stations.3) the weather band receives one station with much static (from NY Harbor < 45 miles away). It takes at least 15 minutes to manually tune to it.4) the procedure for scanning and setting stations is totally unworkable. It follows the user manual so both are useless.5) If I want to set up presets I have to attempt to do it manually - but it is impossible because only one station out of 40 (useless) presets can be selected at one time. Each time I want to select a new station I have to run through perhaps 40 presets and it takes a long time. In other words, presets do not work. It does not matter anyway because either the station I want is not there or is full of static. Using the scan to select presets just finds very static stations but cannot find all the strong stations in this area.I am not returning it because it is not worth my time. I do not want your money. Instead it went into the trash. At this time I simply do not trust Amazon with electronic items so will find a more trustworthy supplier for this kind of product.
