A very good buy
A very good buy. A fraction of the price I would have paid elsewhere for exactly the same product. It is now working happily away and I have no problems with it.

Reliable replacement for a BT Homehub 5
The Business Hub 5 is very similar to the Homehub 5. Probably the same physical hardware, but the software offers very slightly more control than the home version. For example the Business Hub allows you to disable the "BT Wi-Fi (public WiFi)" , and allows very slightly more low-level (technical) control, e.g. LAN DNS resolution table, slightly more granular firewall control.Plenty good enough for basic home setups, but if you're an IT geek, you'd want to buy something less locked-down!It's been extremely reliable and stable, rebooting only once per fortnight as per its inbuilt schedule. At around £50 this was an easy and quick replacement for an old Homehub 5 that was becoming increasingly unstable due to failing hardware.(NB The on/off switch is a black pushbutton next to the DC power-in socket, and could be overlooked; I wonder if this explains a few reviews that said "wouldn't power on")

The last choice for the discerning user
The good:1. Comes free when you sign up for 12 months.2. In isolation (away from competing WiFi signals) does a decent enough job.The bad:1. You cannot set your own DNS server - no big deal you think! but just wait until BT have YET ANOTHER DNS outage for a day.2. Does not have true dual band for 2.4ghz & 5ghz - a lot of issue for devices that do not know how to work with a combined SSID3. WiFi coverage not as good as medium/high end WiFi routers out there.4. Latest HomeHub Tybe B has no WRTG firmware (yet)The ugly:1. Comes with a piggy back wireless network for BT WiFi/FON that CANNOT be turned OFF manually(You can ask BT but it takes weeks and every update which you cannot prevent turns it back on)

Stable and reliable
This is my second slave hub 5 on our network, I configure tham as switches or WiFi extenders. Very stable and preferable over a dedicated WiFi extender.
