This is a professional auto shop grade battery tester, capable of testing batteries up 2000 CCA. The unit also tests starter and alternator performance. The printed output is intelligible and actionable—showing voltage, actual CCA vs rated, a “health chart,” and starter/alternator performance. The printout handed directly to the customer, while maybe old fashioned, means less “You’re just trying to sell me a battery” feedback. The unit is protected by a very tough rubber case. I wouldn’t test it by dropping on the shop floor, but it looks like it will survive some abuse. The battery test cables are sufficiently long that you can test while sitting in the driver’s seat, making it a one-person job. Operation is very simple and the tester has a number of internal checks—such as reversed or loose connection, ambient testing temperature, and charge status—to help prevent false test results. The tester itself runs on AA batteries, but a feature I particularly like is that it can operate with drained internal batteries by drawing from the battery being tested.The price means this unit is probably excessive for a lot of DIY mechanics, but if you have a few cars or are juggling batteries it might be worth it (you also might become popular with your neighbors). For shops this is a durable heavy use tool, and will probably pay for itself with battery sales.

This is a battery/charging/starting systems testers designed for shop & professional use. It can be used by any DIY'er if price is not an issue. Operation is extremely easy, menus are easy to navigate through. Battery cables are long enough ,that you can perform all tests from the driver's seat. WHen all systems are tested, you can print a report for your customer with all the information and results. One thing that could be improved is the display. It's an old fashioned LCD type screen, and in this modern times, it should be a full color touch screen, specially for a high tier tool.
