My husband installed the rails and it was pretty easy to install. I love the new look and it looks amazing.

Very attractive and sturdy balusters. Goes with a variety of decors and a great way to improve the looks of your old-fashioned wooden spindle balusters. Reasonably easy to install, but if you don't know what you're doing, you may want to hire a professional.

Nearly half of the shoes were stripped out not allowing them to tighten. Tried the Allen wrench included as well as other Allen wrenches. We had to buy shoes from another company to finish the project.

I have these exact same balusters in my basement staircase and I love them. We are currently creating a new front porch area, so I was so happy to have stumbled across these. I took them downstairs when I got them to compare, and they are exactly the same, just a much better value. Installation was fairly easy, just like my basement ones. I did see that some other reviewers had a problem with the shoes, and we did too, which is the only reason for the 3 star rating, otherwise they would be a solid 4. The shoes are nicely formed, it's just a set screw problem. The allen key they give you is super cheap, but they usually are, so I use my own anyway. The set screws tend to strip out of the shoes. We had decent luck by tightening them VERY slowly, which is a pain in the rear. Thankfully, I still had leftover shoes from my basement project, so I didn't need to rely solely on the shoes that come with this set, but if you do, try to tighten them slowly. I also happen to have a large set of various sizes of set screws for all of my home projects, which came in very handy. It's a shame that a small set screw situation can change what was a quality product into a nightmare installation. Mine wasn't a complete nightmare, but that's only because I had extra set screws and shoes.
