Can One Build a Better Mousetrap? Well, PHG Definitely Builds a Better N95 Mask
I have purchased many different brands of N95 and KN95 masks. And they are all uncomfortable. Two problems: first, they are all difficult for me to breathe through. I feel like I have a very stuffy nose and just cannot get enough oxygen into my lungs, leaving me no choice but to continually breathe through my mouth to get stronger pulls of air. Each time, I cannot wait to take that mask off and begin breathing normally again. The second problem is that I wear glasses. And no matter how tightly I adjust the metal nosepiece, my exhaled breath still leaks through the top of the mask fogging up my glasses – especially because I’m forced to take bigger breaths through my mouth. The whole mask wearing process is just so inconvenient and uncomfortable.I was intrigued when I saw these masks and just had to know if there really is a better mask out there, and I’m so glad I ordered these – because, yup, this IS a much better mask. Wow: I can breathe through these using my nose without any struggle to get enough air. And I know the mask is still filtering the air as the mask “breathes” with me: inflating and deflating some with each breath. This is also a testament to how well they fit my face: they wouldn’t “breathe” with me if air were leaking out the sides. Even better: no foggy glasses because (1) the metal nosepiece is much stronger than those in my other masks, and (2) these masks have foam padding that fits between the bridge of your nose and the nosepiece (see photo). Together, these two features give you a tight seal around your nose, preventing your warm breath from escaping and fogging up your glasses. This is a mask I can comfortably wear for long periods of time – and it’s now my go-to mask.My only one (minor) complaint is related to the straps. This mask has two straps: one goes around your head above your ears, the other goes around the base of your head below your ears. Two benefits of this design are (1) it gives the mask a much better and tighter fit and (2) the straps aren’t pulling at the backs of your ears which can become painful over time. But one drawback to this design: the masks are more cumbersome to put on and take off as both straps need to go fully over your head. So you can’t just quickly pull one side off your ear to briefly lower the mask. But my complaint has to do with the lower strap. While I do have a smaller head (and in particular, neck), the bottom strap is just too loose to snugly hold the mask against my chin and mouth. But a quick fix: I just tied a quick end loop knot into the bottom strap to shorten it up a bit (see photo). Aside from needing to make this one little adjustment: I love these masks!

good seal and comfortable as they can be
These PHG PROTECTIVE HEALTH GEAR N95 Particulate Filtering Respirators, NIOSH Certified masks have a good seal and are as comfortable as they can be. I like that they come individually wrapped. I like the "sewing" down the middle that seals the layers together. I'm not sure about the "sewing" around the edges and to hold in the nose piece because you can see through the holes. Maybe it's OK but that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I like the wider elastic straps. They are much more comfortable than the thin elastics on some masks. I like the cushioning on the noise piece that keeps the metal from pressing into your nose. The metal on the nose piece is easy to really pinch so you get a good seal around your nose-- no fogged up glasses here! Masks worn correctly are never going to be comfortable, but these are as comfortable as they can be WHILE STILL doing their job.

This mask fits very close so seems to work very well.

Good Fit. Individually Packaged. Still One Use Only.
The 50 Pack of NOISH Certified PHG N95 Protective Particulate Filtering Respirators (ASIN: B0CJ9VMV51) fit, feel, and function like those I have used for some time. The one-use respirators are individually packaged. They are easy to put on. Using the required two straps for a respirator that go behind the head secures it in place. Instructions printed on the box provide the correct direction and information for the use, removal, and disposal of N95 respirators. These N95s fit normally to me. I have always had some air passage at the nose bridge with the N95 which fogs my safety glasses. As always, any passage of air around the edges, meaning that the air did not pass through the filtering membrane of the respirator, is allowing air in that will still contain the targeted contaminates. I have always taped the N95 respirator to my nose and under my eyes to prevent that leakage. With the tape in place this is a very effective respirator for me.

Great N95 made in the USA
I like how each mask is individually wrapped to keep them protected and sanitary, this makes them perfect to put in a backpack or purse. These masks have a nice tight feel and I find them easy to breath with them on. Since these are a true N95 they have the straps that go around the head/neck and not behind the ears (which I like better because it doesn't put stress on your ears) The price is about $3.60 per mask but, for the protection of a real N95 I feel its worth it. I recommend these masks.

Comfortable
I work in healthcare and these are notably more comfortable than the KN95 that wrap around the ears. I do not notice much difference in comfort between other N95s and these around the nose area. For the quantity, it comes out to be about 3-4 dollars a piece. I don’t think I would buy these given how many I go through in one day, but I can say that these pass the sniff test for me. In order for N95s to work, you will need to undergo a fitting test to see if you are able to smell or taste a particular chemical. If these fit you, then they will work as N95s

Not the rigid design, but they work well
These are a different design than the other N95 masks I have, which are the ones that are a rigid shape. These are soft but have the same type of straps that go around the back of the head. They actually are very comfortable to wear and I find it easy to breathe with them on. I assume they provide the same level of protection and they are made in the USA, which is a huge plus. The 50 pack was a bit pricy, but I know N95 masks typically are at a higher price. I am glad to get these prior to doing any holiday travel, as I want to take every possible precaution against getting the flu or COVID, as it seems like every time I've taken a cross-country flight this time of year I've getting sick. Not taking any chances this year.

Keeps out dust and fumes
I got these for when I do my epoxy, air brushing, sanding, painting and grinding. They work great. They are very snug on your face which helps keep the dust and fumes out. They fit well and are pretty comfortable for being a mask. They are a little pricey but it all depends on how much protection you need.
