6 Stars - Great buy
This coffee table is amazing. I got the 48" Umber Brown version and the color and finish are quality. A couple things I'd like to highlight that maybe others haven't1 - This is heavy, it is all of 90 pounds and is difficult to move without 2 people because of it's size. I could slide it on the carpet to get it where I wanted but I needed help to maneuver it around.2 - The packaging on this is no joke. If this is damaged in shipping you will know it before opening it. You could not hurt this without smashing the outer box because the inside is protected to the max.3 - The legs are solid, heavy metal, they are not flimsy or cheap. They attach to the bottom in sunk threaded metal receivers, not into the wood, which makes them strong and sturdy. That is literally all that needs to be assembled, 10 minutes. Also, they are not as "shiny gold" as they appear in the picture which was something I was happy to see.4 - I do not have any issue with the lift top not sitting flush when in the down position. There are also magnets on each side to help anchor it down. When in the up position it is SOLID. I would not be afraid to put anything on it when up. In fact it feels like you could sit on it but I won't attempt that.I've been researching lift-top coffee tables for a while and could not be more thrilled with my purchase and the price. I liked that it was a split lift top because my last one was the entire table top and it stressed the hinge mechanism which eventually broke. I do not fear that here. The storage under the top is rather deep and a nice bonus. I also like that it is solid wood, not some pressboard stuff with a million fastener things. I have no doubt this will last many, many years.

Great in all aspects!
This is an amazing coffee table. It is great in pretty much all aspects!- Assembly: Super easy. Being solid wood, the whole wooden part was already assembled. All I had to assemble were the stands, took 15 minutes.- Material: The solid mango wood is simply gorgeous. The color is a warm reddish brown that goes perfectly with my hardwood floors. It has a natural finish that feels nice to touch.- Build: This coffee table is constructed very well. It sits heavy on the floor. The hinge mechanism for the lifting plate is also constructed well. Since it is heavy, the lifting plate can support a good amount of weight without the risk of breaking or toppling over.- Look: Very nice modern design. It really adds to the room it is in.- Function: One of the primary reasons why we purchased this table was because of the lifting top plate. We use this feature every day, while eating and watching TV, and studying/working. One of the distinguishing factors of this model compared to its competitors is the how wide the lifting top part is. At 48", it allows for 2 people eat at the same time easily, with room to spare for common table items. All in all, we've been loving this coffee table. I can't think of a single It's a bit high priced compared to others, but you get your money's worth. Highly recommended!

Great furniture, not exactly "gray"
I already have one of these Simpli Home large coffee tables where the top comes up and two compartments and bought my girlfriend a "gray" one. I appears very gray on the pictures but in person it is not that gray. In the words of my gf they put one coat of stain on and they were done. Doesn't look gray to me it more looks like wood that was distressed or exposed to the elements for a few years but it didn't match the picture and I would not call it gray especially if I didn't know that is what it was supposed to be. Gray in spots okay, but a clean crisp gray like the picture no! Especially considering they recently jacked up the price of the "gray." It was supposed to match her floors and I was a little envious (thinking to give her the one she had bought me - I wouldn't lol) but once I saw it I was perfectly happy with mine. Otherwise this is a great West Elm like piece of furniture, high quality, at a fraction of the price. Stick with the natural color wood, trust me I have one of each in the house as we speak...About to buy a third one for my den (36") the longer you own it the easier it is to lift but stays in place once in place. It was difficult to open when we got the first one but now, a few years later it is very easy to open the spring is not as tight as before. Still solid, no other complaints. Other than making it easier to lift the loosening of the spring has not had any ill side effects.

Lovely nightstand
Solid mango wood nightstand that was easy to put together (just bolt the metal legs and you’re done). Drawer is deep and slides open smoothly. Ample open space on bottom half. I bought this to pair with an identical nightstand. Packaging was impressive. All cardboard pieces so easy to recycle. This is my fourth Simplihome purchase. Note one of the drilled holes at the bottom was faulty (not drilled all the way through). It didn’t detract for us though.

Very nice!
You get what you pay for. This is a very nice piece of furniture. Well packed, heavy, well made and almost fully put together (with the exception of the legs).

Wanted to love, but lift top does not lay flat.
I was so excited for this coffee table. It was super easy to assemble, just screw on the legs. It feels very sturdy. Unfortunately, the wood on our lift top seems a bit bowed, and one side of the top does not lay flush. It sticks up a bit and there's a very noticeable gap. It's very annoying, as anytime something flat is on the coffee table, it will wobble across the gap between the lift top part and the rest of the table. As others have noted, there is also high variance in the wood used. Some neon yellow almost, some pinkish. It's okay looking from afar, and I don't mind the color inconsistency nearly as much as the uneven lift top, but be aware the pictures on the listing are not accurate to the coloration.Overall I am not pleased to have spent nearly $400 on this given the issue with the lift top, but as the package is nearly 100lbs it is not something easily returned.
