Great brightness and picture for use in a dorm room.
Bought as a gift for my son for his dorm room. He's extremely pleased with it. Has great brightness and picture. Good for tight spaces as throws up a nice big picture with only 10' room width to use.

Works from the box
This is a good projector. Fast setup. Good focus. The sound a bit metallic but I use Bluetooth speaker. The only downside that it reads external storage devices very slow. I tried flash drives and SSD drives. It is just slow. I hope they will update the software at some point and it will change.

Easy to set up
Worked extremely well with and without a screen. My 13 year old had it set up in no time. Simply log into your Google account and download any apps you want (like Netflix). Sound was perfect. If I was hosting a party I’d probably add in a Bluetooth speaker. But for my family to kick back and watch a movie that wasn’t necessary.

Terrible experience all around
For what it's worth, this projector was great - when it actually worked. The picture was surprisingly clear and sharp for the small size of the device. It's not bright - this definitely won't work well in a room with any significant lighting - but in a dark room the picture is excellent. The speakers are mediocre at best but passable as long as you're in a somewhat quiet environment. I'd recommend using a separate portable speaker with an AUX cable if you want some real sound. That's about all I can say for the good. The bad:1) Not the seller's fault, but the package was delivered to the wrong address a block over. That already started this whole experience on the wrong foot.2) Despite buying a new unit, the unit I was received was very clearly used. All of the packaging was torn up and opened and a Google account was already signed into the device. Not terrible, I guess, except for the fact that the lamp isn't replaceable and the battery life was probably shortened by some unknown amount of time. The unit I received was manufactured in April 2021 and the last sign-in on the Google account that was linked to the device in November 2021. I ordered this device in April 2022, so I assume that means I had a device that probably wasn't put into the "battery saving" mode sitting somewhere in a warehouse for 5 months.3) I can't get the damn thing to work. The manual includes no actual troubleshooting steps and I can't find any information on troubleshooting online. The projector doesn't seem to charge, but even when plugged in it won't turn on despite using the included DC adapter: the LED simply remains red and turns to a blinking orange when I try to turn it in. I've had it plugged in for a couple of hours at this point with no progress. There's no ability to factory reset the device from what I can tell. For $500, totally unacceptable experience. Instant return and won't buy from this brand again.=========UPDATE:Contrary to my initial review above, I ended up requesting a replacement device to see if my experience with the first unit was unusual. The second device I received was also very clearly used with another Google account already signed into the device. The second unit also included a remote that wasn't the remote that was supposed to come with the device (???) - good thing I kept the first unit until I received the second since I simply paired the remote I had from the first unit. Unlike the first unit, the second unit seemed to charge and function correctly, and I didn't have any issues with the unit seemingly dying after being turned on initially. As with the first unit, the picture was quite clear, the autofocus feature was excellent (why doesn't every projector include this?!), and the speakers were mediocre.I ultimately ended up returning the second unit as well - the whole experience with this projector just left a sour taste in my mouth that made me irritated considering the $500 price point. As I mentioned in my initial review, I definitely won't be buying from this brand again despite the quality of the hardware - assuming it works. Buyer beware - be ready for a return in case you get a crappy unit.

This is probably an unfair rating but...
I'm basing it on my very specific situation.I'm using this at my off grid camp to watch "good" movies on. There are a few things that make this projector less than ideal for that application.I decided to sacrifice some energy efficiency in favor of brightness. This is a problem since I only have solar and the battery packs I haul out there to provide electricity. This was a bad decision for a couple of reasons.1. it uses 65 watts of power. I didn't really believe the claim and figured it was an overestimate but it does use that. 65 watts is not a small amount on limited energy. The 42 inch TV I have out there uses less than 25. You can power it from a battery brick but most bricks don't put out that amount of wattage and if they do they won't last long. 2 or 3 hours compared to the 2 or 3 hours that other models will last with a built in battery.2. I got this because of the 400 lumen rating where most other "portable" projectors are 300 or less. if this translated into a noticeably different real world picture I would be ok with this tradeoff. but I still think this is wasted in anything but a blacked out room. Don't misunderstand me..you can see this with light. but it's nothing like my BenQ HT2050A which feels perfectly fine to watch in a completely illuminated room.AS such... I probably would've gone with a lower brightness/better power usage model if I did it over again. It works fine. gets the job done. It just uses too much power for my liking. Some quirks.....it's also difficult to get it to change to HDMI input. I haven't found a way to switch input with the remote (but I'm sure it's possible). I just unplug and replug HDMI and it will almost always recognize and switch. The auto keystone is also a bit aggravating IMO. If you want your picture to look even and perfect keystone is the devil. Auto keystone makes it harder than it already is to find the perfect center for the projector on your screen.
