Finally, a blood pressure tea without hibiscus!
My blood pressure is typically a few points higher than what should be normal -- my systolic tends to be in the mid 120s and my diastolic around 85. After a week of drinking this tea, my blood pressure (as taken in the doctor's office) was 118/78. Not sure if it is entirely attributable to this tea, but I haven't really made other changes in my life, so perhaps it is?Regardless, I'll keep drinking this tea because it tastes like regular tea - sort of like white tea or a weak black tea. It is one of the only blood pressure teas without hibiscus. I absolutely cannot stand the taste of hibiscus. I hope Triple Leaf doesn't mess with this formula, because it is quite drinkable. If you added a bit of sugar and a little milk to this tea, it might actually taste like weak tea (or what my mom calls "bed tea" - weak tea that is consumed in the late afternoon or early evening). It has no caffeine and I haven't noticed any stimulating effects. In anything, this tea helps relax me. I usually drink one cup every day, at work.If you are worried this tea might taste like chinese herbs, don't worry. It is much much closer to white tea and is not bitter, "herbally" or in any way foul.

No effect whatsoever - This did not work
I've had high blood pressure since my early twenties. I'm not overweight, exercise regularly and eat healthy, low sodium diet. My HBP is controlled by low doses of Norvasc and a dieuretic ( I forget the name). I ran out of meds and decided this was the best time to try one of these teas and do so in a scientific manner - having a background in the sciences and several degrees to prove it. To ensure I settle back to my regular, unmedicated pressure I was off drugs for a bit over a week. My BP settled at 160/109 - yup! That's nuts, I just don't understand it - I do everything right, anyways.Reading the recommendations I drank two cups in the evening and this damn thing almost made me pee the bed. I was like what the heck!! Seriously, I had to run for the bathroom a few times the next day. Once I got accustomed to it, that subsided and I monitored my pressure for the next week. Twice or three times per day following the recommended procedure - sitting quietly for 5 minutes, arm at heart level, automated Omron monitor (excellent ratings). Now the result -My blood pressure was UNCHANGED.. This tea had absolutely no effect whatsoever other than making me pee more initially. It is very good tasting tea and I continue to consume a cup daily. It may work well in conjunction with meds, that remains to be seen.I do believe in Eastern Medicine - they have studied the healing effects of herbs on the body for much longer than Western medicine's approach of slice/dice and medicate to mask symptoms. So in summary, now that I'm back on meds, I can't conclusively say if the effect of lowering BP has anything to do with the tea. Be careful of all these claims that people make as many are not based on scientific observation but rather the placebo effect. There have not established conclusive correlation between drinking the tea and observed blood pressure decrease. If I snap my fingers and the stoplight changes, can I say I changed the stoplights with the finger snap? Not really. It has to be demonstrated as being repeatable and confirmed by multiple sources under scientific observation to hold true.So in summary, If you are looking to lower you BP go see a doctor of Western or Eastern medicine let them work with you. Drink this tea because it is good, not to lower your BP.
