Monica Murphy is one of my favourite authors. Her sports romance books are the best and i enjoyed reading them. I love the bully romance trope and till date I've read many books about the same. I particularly don't enjoy the book when the female mc is too gullible or gives in easily. In Summer's case though, I'm still not sure whether I liked her or not but I felt sympathetic towards her. The girl was put through a lot when she was supposed to be a kid and enjoy her life all because of her mother's actions. Summer was strong but I think she was too dependable on Whitt. Maybe I felt like that because she didn't have any friends besides Sylvie (Whitt's sister) whom she rarely opened up to. It was almost like she couldn't function without him.Summer & Whitt were perfect and had good chemistry. There was a lot of steam, angst and tension but their relationship felt entirely physical to me. After 86% I started to feel their emotional connection but by then, I could practically predict the end and I wasn't that invested in the story.Whitt was everything I liked in a bad boy. Cruel, arrogant, broody, vindictive, possessive, rich and handsome. But the fact that his family came from old money was exaggerated a lot.Overall, the side characters that intrigued me the most were Sylvie & Spencer. The more I read books, the more I've come to an understanding that I love mean girls or some badas female protagonists who are a lot more complicated inside than what they show on the outside and because of that I hope Monica writes a book about Sylvie.I liked the plot. Sometimes, it was disturbing and sometimes it was shocking. I can say that it was definitely not a light read. It was solid with all the family drama, secrets, mean rich kids and boy obsessed trope but it didn't keep me hooked. That's just all about my opinion on this one.

took me to the deep dark end of enemies to lovers and bully romance
Oh wow Monica Murphy took me to the deep dark end of enemies to lovers and bully romance in Things I Wanted To Say. The hero is downright despicable and mean and I hate him till I just couldn't anymore. I was wondering what is wrong with me because I am really loving every minute of his twisted torture! And then comes a heroine who matches him in the depravity and who challenges him. A gripping tale of mind games, power plays, perverse desires and all consuming romance.Whit Lancaster hate Summer. Because her mother ruined their polished and perfect family. Summer's life has exploded and she didn't think it could go worse till she ends up in Lancaster Prep. Whit and his rich and powerful family owns it and Whit is hell bent on ruining her life. Specially after he gets his hands on her journal with all her dark dirty secrets. Whit wants to play with her but Summer won't break down so easily. It's easily Monica Murphy's darkest and most erotic story till date. Whit is a bully. Like the extreme. His cruel and derogatory words. His cold and callous ways. The humiliation and shame and degradation he caused to Summer. He plays the part of rich arrogant player so well! He doesn't have any limit and he won't stop till Summer breaks. But the problem is Summer isn't the usual girl who craves his money or his fame. She has gone through so much trauma and heartbreak and she is still so strong. She has this devious sides inside her. Her fantasies are depraved and filthy and she actually wants the way Whit treats her sexually. God it was just uber sexy! Like panty melting, scorching hot deliciousness. Whit is enamoured by her sassy ways, her needs matching his own and her unique personality. And they don't even know when their connection crossed the enemy line and becomes something else. But their dirty passion cannot save their "relationship". Whit's legacy is at stake and his family will do the worst to destroy Summer. And it will cause mayhem. Now the reason I didn't give it four star was because the ending. Rather how that ending came. It's a pretty long book and it has loads of sexy times. And then the crucial plot twist came. And the story changed gear. Super fast and super hard. I could hear the screeching tires in my head. I was getting ready for angst overload and it didn't come. It just...fizzled out. It's like after a break everyone grows up and becomes mature and all conflicts got resolved. I needed to see the bone crushing pain and it didn't come.Things I Wanted to Say by Monica Murphy is must read for every bully romance lover. Be ready for all the aching, stinging and soul deep explosions of emotions.I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

Delicious read!
This book was perfect for my corrupted mind.Highly addictive and twisted!Whit and Summer are intense and fit each other well. Both far from innocent and into a lot of kink. They set the whole scene on fire. Whit is dark, brooding and powerful with all the money and family.A rich typical playboy.Summer is a sweet girl very beautiful inside and outside. But a very naive and very gullible girl..She always gets used by almost every character and yet she doesn't fight against anything. Her relationship with her mother is the worst.Im a sucker for these dark bullies and I must say this was very satisfying to read. The best dark bully book this year.
