these will not turn your bike into a nice quiet kawasaki 300
First off let me start by saying if your running vance and hines short shots your probably on a sportster/Cruiser, these will not turn your bike into a nice quiet kawasaki 300!! They do exactly what they say on the tin and just reduce noise by a few decibels, but it is noticeable, especially if you have straight through or no baffle at all. I personally love them. They just dulled the sound just enough for me, especially on idle, and I think they make a much nicer noise when you take it up near the red line, Sounds a bit more 'sporty' in my opinion. Anyway if your looking for something to make your bike 'quiet' look somewhere else (you'll probably need to shell out a good few ££$$ to replace the exhaust/mufflers) Short shots/Vanes and hines are loud exhausts and this is a nice wee alternative to help those noise complaints (a bit)

Still noisy
I bought these baffles because the original short shots fitted to my 1200c sportster were just too loud for both the rider (me) and the imagined general public.Fitting was reasonably straight forward with only the removal of the heat shields necessary to reach the baffle fixing screws. The old one came out and immediately I could see why the pipes were so noisy. It used to be called 'straight through" in that in reality the baffle didn't really exist and the exhaust pipe was without restriction. The 'quiet baffles' at least made an attempt to be a restriction and did indeed reduce noise to some extent. For me the tick over noise is almost acceptable and at least there is now some back pressure which has improved the torque at lower speeds. Is it quiet enough? I don't yet know as I have yet to ride the bike any distance. I suspect in the end I will fit the original pipes which give greater performance and little noise.Make your own mind up I'm afraid is all I can say, but hey those Vance and Hines 'short shots' do look beautiful!!!!!

Great sound
Very pleased I bought these baffles, they have taken the unpleasant harsh crack out of the exhaust note and left a lovely deep Harley rumble. Still a decent volume without the bleeding ears! Easy to fit once the heat shields are out of the way. Fitted to shortshots on a 114 Harley Fat Boy.

Check before you buy
Very disappointed with quality of product. Have purchased Vance & Heines exhaust baffles in the past and these aren't of the same standard and didn't fit properly. Wouldn't recommend.

Didn't go far enough
I needed something on my shortshots as after 10 mins of riding my head was buzzing from the noise, regardless of speed!! These baffles are the only thing on the market that has the potential to make a difference. Sadly in my view they do something at idle but on the road it's hard to notice any real difference. So you will get a slight improvement but the reality is if your like H&V exhausts then you ain't gonna get these one to go quietly.

Just what the V&H Short Shots on my Harley needed
Expensive for what they are, but they significantly change the tone of the stock Short Shots exhaust. I found these to be embarrassingly loud and the quiet baffles both lessened the volume and improved the tone. On tick-over, the bike is much quieter. Easily installed using one Allen-head screw at the rear of the muffler (recommend putting thread-lock on this screw when you replace it). I installed the baffle as it came - wrapped in fibre-glass. I didn't remove the plastic coating either, which holds the fibre-glass in place and makes inserting easier. I'm guessing that if it's not a high-temperature kind of plastic, it will just burn off. 4 stars because of what seems a very high cost to me.

Cool sound
Cool deep sound, a bit quieter than the original baffles.

Third party parts, but they work.
These are after market pattern parts, and not the ones made by V&H. The fitting for the pipes comes with a nut bolt/washer set which doesn't fit in the space of the V&H short shots pipes which I had bought these for, but using the original allen bolt from the pipes with the nut got the job done. Upside, they do now fit. They're cheaper than the V&H parts by almost half price, and I guess the third party part is the reason. So advise for the seller would to be to make it clear that these are pattern parts, and for the manufacturer, if you're unable to weld the bolt on place as V&H do, to supply a bolt with a rounded head to fit into the heat shield of the pipes.
