Lifesystems Unisex Midge/Mosquito Head Net Sun Hat, Black

This was a great buy it kept the smudges off me in the Highlands.The price was very reasonable.

Used this head net hat for a beaver watching expedition in Scotland. Millions of midges but the head net hat was very effective. Was not troubled by the midges at all. The net has a good length so that you can tuck it into the neck of your garment to ensure the wee beasties cannot get under it. You do feel a bit of a twit wearing it at first, but as others were wearing similar protection, you soon forget about the lack of fashion elegance! Remember to lift the net up before trying to blow your nose though!!!

Well made and does the job

This hat-net works a treat. The rigid brim holds the net away from your face, making it much more comfortable the old close-fitting types; it also provides better vision as well as breathing. The closure around the neck seems to work well keeping midges out. It is light-weight and comfortable to wear. It's the best thing I've found so far to keep the clouds of midges away while working in and around the vegetation where they swarm. And the price is quite reasonable.

Was just going to buy a basic net for Scotland midges but saw this with the hat and it’s damn good. Good pull cord at the bottom so the blighters can’t get through and good enough visibility. The bonus is you can use it as a hat with the net inside a great buy

There’s nothing wrong with the quality of this, but the netting could do with being a bit longer. Certainly for me, unless I have a very high collar the back of my neck is exposed.

Compact and great to have space around your face but the net could do with being an inch or so longer at the bottom. Wouldn't stop me buying again however. It works for Scottish midges which require a fine mesh.

The hat and net together is well worth the extra cost. I used to wear just the net but could never see where I was going. With the hat the net stays away from the face which is much better. It is also quite long so I can cover up better then pull the string tighter. Very successful. Bought one for my husband as well. Great for gardening in Scotland. The hat does only come in one size but seems to work. Slightly big for me but fitted my husband well. You could nip in the inner band if you really found it too loose. I've a small head but didn't find it a problem. I was a bit worried that the mesh was slightly larger - for mosquitos not midges but so far nothing seems to have got through.
