Detailed Brilliance
Brilliant diagrams, excellent keys, simply mapped out and laid out information for difficult and also the easiest of dressage manoevres. It's bound at the top for a vertical flip, with a hole punched down near the bottom so you can hang the book on a nail on your bulletin board or at home and keep it open while you study it. It has handy hints how to achieve positions and gives you ideas to improve certain flaws. It is by far the best book on jumping exercises I have read so far that is dedicated purely to jumping exercises.Just about EVERY page has another full A4 riding arena on it showing the pattern where the horse is going, it shows crossbars and it shows trotting poles, verticals, gymnastics and where to place them, it shows where you should be directing your horse and what way to approach with an excellent use of diagrams and patterns which have a key right next to it so the design remains uncluttered and simple to read. It even gives you cheap alternatives to make some jumps yourselves and offers quick solutions. A best buy for anyone serious about jumping - or even dressage - to keep their horse supple and to keep their horse (and themselves!) from boredom. Brilliant.

Excellent !
We are using this book during the training of our young event horse. Having little experience in "producing" horses but rather riding them while regularly having a lesson, this book is invaluable for those who would like to understand more about "why", "what to do" and "what to look for". A good and knowledgeable trainer should not be substituted by this book. But here is the trick:Lessons and clinics are difficult to replicate and the rider can often be too busy during training to remember the trainer's words and timing thereof afterwards. This will inevitably leave him or her with many questions, especially: "How did I achieve the goal of this training, how did I do it?" This book makes you answer for yourself. It is however almost mandatory to have a helper stand alongside, to read and look and comment on how the exercises are performed. This too is a very good learning experience.Anyone using this book is strongly advised to start at the beginning, however simple it may seem and perform each and every exercise as precisely as possible before transitioning to the next. I feel this is not a book for the beginner rider. But being very thorough and precise will help you to be very critical of your own and your horse's level of training, while getting into a good position to pinpoint flaws. All in all this book is a wonderful addition to your existing training and understanding thereof. Patience, empathy and self criticism are the virtues of horse training anyway, so get the hang of it!A similarly good book is101 Dressage Exercises for Horse & RiderAlso very recommended!Enjoy your training and be grateful for your horses willing response to your combined efforts!

BRILLIANT!! I absolutely love it!
This book is absolutely BRILLIANT!! As a riding instructor and a trainer, this book is filled to the brim with fun, challenging, easily laid out and understandable do-it-yourself exercises for everyone! Whether your training an inexperienced rider, a green horse, an advanced student, or even a top level horse, this book has exercises for everyone! I love that it has exercises for flatwork as well, because we all know that flatwork is essential and the key to great and efficient jumping!

Lovely book! Very informative.
I bought this book as an intermediate rider that has been having trouble with a green broke filly I'm leasing going jump sour. The groundwork and ground pole exercises have helped tremendously at getting the filly to relax when it comes to jumping. It also spices up plain old flatwork that us jumpers find boring. The filly I'm riding is now more confident when she jumps and doesn't rush fences. It has also helped me as a rider to focus on every little thing that I do when I ride a course. It's very easy to set your sights on one jump and not the entire course. I highly recommend this book!

5* for Content 3* for Kindle Version
This book is fantastic. It is a must have for anyone who jumps their horse. Heck, the first chapter is fantastic for someone who is purely a dressage rider. The exercises are great. They are explained well and the diagrams are clear. The book also gives the whats and whys of most exercises so you understand exactly what the objective is. The progression of exercises is logical and very helpful. I have yet to school my horse with any of these exercises, but I have had trainers in the past use some of them and they have worked very well. The content of the book is fabulous, I give it 5* for that. However, the kindle edition is not very good. Some of the diagrams, mostly keys for the symbols, aren't quite right and the layout of each page is choppy. I found that I would have to go back and forth between pages to really understand what each exercise was asking. One good thing about the kindle edition is that the text has clickable links to previous exercises that are mentioned which is very helpful. There are some tools you can implement that makes it a little more user-friendly, but the layout and page divisions themselves are not helpful. I give the kindle edition 3*. I recommend getting the print copy and only purchasing the kindle version if absolutely necessary.

Enlightening
This exercise book is like having Linda Allen herself coaching you 'round! I've been lucky enough to have her give me various lessons (which are always so enlightening), and she has definitely given me some of the trickiest jumps. Everyday before riding I read a few pages (specially the hints Linda gives on issues that may occur), I lay out bout 3 exercises, and I try them out. What I've realized is that the exercises help polish and review basic skills (for horse & rider) which are sometimes forgotten or unnoticed. In conclusion the book has helped me to get down to basics and has shown improvement in my jumping.
