Great metronome! Value and quality!🎸🎹
The media could not be loaded. After deciding to play my guitar along side someone else playing a piano, we discovered how hard it is to stay in time with each other. “We need a metronome!”, I exclaimed, and here we are. This is a great metronome with some nice and simple features which can be seen in my attached review video. Here’s a list:1. It doesn’t need batteries, it’s a wind up. (Literally!)2. The beat speed can be changed by moving the weight up and down.3. A bell can be set to ring on the 2, 3, 4 or 6th beat. Or not at all.4. It has a pendulum lock to stop damage during transit.5. It has a cover to protect the pendulum arm.6. It’s LOUD!This has helped us keep in time as it can easily be heard of both the guitar and piano. The fact it doesn’t need batteries is great for us, just give it a quick wind every few songs. Happy days!In summary: A great metronome that is a good price and simple to use with an accurate timing beat. Recommended!

It IS loud which is why I bought it..but
It IS loud which is why I bought it, but... there is no control on its volume which means if I'm recording, I have to put it some distance away or it would be too loud for acoustic guitar on the recording. Trial and error needed. It does what it says. Very 'plasticky' looking and doesn't look great but does its job.

Nice and loud
We are using it for cornet practice and it is loud enough to hear while playing. It is easy to set up and looks nice too.

Good mechanical metronome with time signature accents
The metronome works exactly as described. You can adjust the BPM and even turn on a bell that accents different time signatures. It looks elegant enough, the finish is good and it feels well built. You use it as you would any mechanical metronome. There's a wing nut on the side to wind it up and it ticks for a few minutes. It won't go on indefinitely like electronic metronomes, and it's bigger and heavier, but if you prefer the interface and experience of using a traditional metronome, this is a perfectly good example that looks the part too.

Not good enough to practise music
The metronome was to be used to help keep strict time while playing music. An important aspect of this is the bell, which can be set to give a ring at the start of each bar; for this the ring has to be pretty crisp. With this metronome the bell resonated, so it continued long after the first beat was over, so was absolutely no use as an indicator of the start of the bar. On top of that the bell frequently did not ring at all. These faults mean that the whole purpose of the metronome is negated.
