No more clogged pipes!
Really works. Put a couple of scoops and the waste oil turns into greasy jello. Start with less powder at first -if you didn't put enough, all you have to do is reheat the oil and put more in. So much easier to throw out oil now. No more clogging pipes, no more garbage bags dripping oil all over (nothing like garbage infused waste oil on your kitchen floor -good luck mopping that up!) Sometimes, the jello will stick to the pot and not come out -just heat it on high heat real quickly -it'll melt the bottom and it won't stick anymore but the rest of the jello will come right out (or you can just spoon it out without melting it).

This has been a life savor!
This stuff is genius if you deep fry at home! It solidifies used cooking oil into a gel-like blob that you can literally scoop into the trash—no more messy pouring or clogged drains. I used it after frying chicken and was shocked at how well it worked. Just stir it into the warm (not hot) oil, wait for it to cool, and done. It’s plant-based and super safe to use, which I appreciate. You only need a little bit to treat a good amount of oil, so the bag lasts a while. It’s such a cleaner, easier way to deal with used grease without the mess or guilt. If you cook with oil even occasionally, this is one of those random-but-useful things to keep around.

Deep-frying fanatics will LOVE this stuff!
One of the joys of a low carb/keto lifestyle is that you can deep fry to your heart's content without blowing your carb allowance. Keto batters and coatings are easy to make with pork rinds, almond flour, egg white powder, etc. Recipes are all over the Internet. I enjoy deep-fried shrimp, fish, chicken, you name it, all the while keeping true to my keto way of eating. The only thing that was stopping me was the oil. What to do with all that oil? Now, I have a marvelous Bravetti deep fryer, and it holds a LOT of oil. My fryer will hold an entire gallon before it reaches the max fill line. I use refined avocado oil, due to its very high smoke point and non-inflammatory quality. But avocado oil stays liquid at room temperature, and even refrigerated, it's still quite runny. You can't use it indefinitely - at some point, it needs to be changed out, especially if you're frying proteins.Ta-da! Oil solidifier! I never knew there was such a thing until someone in one of my Facebook keto groups mentioned it. I admit, I was skeptical at first. It seemed like people were just using it to solidify a little grease from frying pans. Heck, a half sheet of paper towel can sop up that little bit of fat. But, I took a leap of faith and ordered the LaSyl powder. I figured there would be enough in the jar to get at least one fryer's worth of spent oil fit for the garbage bag. I poured about half of the oil into an old Dutch oven, which was all it would hold, and just sprinkled the flakes over the top. I didn't even notice the little scoop, and I had no idea how many cups were in the pot. I probably used seven or eight scoops' worth on that first try. I stirred and stirred, but they didn't dissolve, so I heated the oil a bit and that did the trick. The oil was still very runny, but I decided to let it cool and see what happened. I figured I could always reheat the oil and add more flakes. What a surprise! A couple of hours later, I had a Dutch oven full of oil solidified to the texture of firm gelatin. It scooped easily out of the pot and into the garbage. No need for more flakes! I didn't need it to be solid and hard like some of the videos showed. I just needed it firm enough not to leak out of the bag. And I still had an almost full jar of the powder left!I'm beyond pleased with the LaSyl oil solidifier powder. There are lots of other brands and sizes available, and they probably work the same, but this large jar is perfect for a deep-frying fanatic like me. And it's totally safe and biodegradable, too, which is a big issue for me. Now, time to order some more avocado oil. I got me some fryin' to do!

WARNING, BE CAREFUL
I'm sure this stuff works for some people, however, do not under any circumstances use it with a deep fryer, it ruined my oil pot, I have to throw It in the garbage and pray I can order a new one.

Does what it says
It does what it says. Definitely hardens. Maybe I should’ve emptied sooner but it solidified and hardened in my iron skillet so much I had to scrape with metal spatula, chipping away at mass. Think letting grease cool and using paper towel to dispose of in trash might be easier.
