So good!
This racket is unbelievably good for it's price. I bought this racket because I needed two rackets, my old one for training and this one for club matches and tournaments. I have never really known much about Ashaway or its reputation, however in a local store I saw it on the shelf for a decent price and the shop owner hinted that this was the best for it's price so I decided to try it out. At first, I thought this was insanely light, even with the packaging on there was an obvious difference in weight between any other famously branded racket, and that was enough for me to go and invest in this product through amazon. I did a bit of research on it and I found out Ashaway is American based and the stringless weight of the superlight 79SQ is around 76-78 grams and that there was really only one other racket made by karakal which could compete with it in terms of balance and weight. So when it arrived through the post, it came with an ashaway branded badminton case which astonishingly looked nicer and felt of a much higher quality than the *cough* *cough* yonex, wilson and carlton cases that I've had in the past which really surprised me. The racket also came next to it and honestly I've never been happier recieving a racket in my life! The weight with strings is actually 82 grams which is still really light, the standard grip it came with was also very high quality; contained air holes to stop sweating and is light and very very grippy! When I came to play with this racket at a gym for 2 and a 1/2 hours I really understood why the shop owner was so smug about that product! as it's headlight the maneuverability is astonishing, trickshots that require alot of quick wrist twisting can be done alot easier and the quick reaction movements are fast and effortless, so returning smashes and kills are alot easier. The power you get in this racket is also very good, with the right technique the smashes have alot of speed and because of the maneuverability, you can create quite steep angles which most players struggle to deal with! The strings are good they make a proper noise when you hit the shuttlecock, creating a pop-like sound when you hit it instead of the lame sounding ting or slap sounds. To my ever so slight annoyance though, the effort needed to serve to the far rear corners are harder and require alot more effort to do. But atleast the control you get from the strings is very good, probably one of the best rackets ever for control. As it's light there is the slight hinderance of having to use lower tensions than what most rackets can handle, but it can handle tensions of 30 or 35 newtons. So overall, great racket great price and probably one of the best rackets you'll ever find if you are a very defensive, quick reaction player that also does powerful smashes.

An Excellently Built And Excellently Performed 5U Racket
It is a well made racket in terms of quality and finish as synonymous and associated with Ashaway. It is a 5U specification [75-79 grams without string]. Has a high repulsion response, very light and stable compared to the Karakal BN-60 [indicated at 60 grams]. Suitable for shuttler's who are attack minded, who likes fast plays, who likes quick exchanges, who play net exchanges up to mid court drives and exchanges. Power required for fast smashes will depend on shuttler's swing speed. An Excellently Built And Excellently Performed 5U Racket.

Great lightweight racket . Good price . Did not come with Racket cover as advertised
Great lightweight racket and is really good value for the price . Some other sites say this is head heavy but it doesn’t feel like it . It feels more even balance and the low weight and medium -stiff shaft add more control and responsiveness to my game . My style is more of an all-rounder and this feels ideal , especially for doubles . Despite the G2 grip I still needed to regrip it but I think that’s fairly standard anyway .Can’t fault the racket but it was from Marketplace and didn’t come with the racket cover bag as described . I called Amazon services and they couldn’t guarantee that if I returned it, it would still come with a cover and I really wanted to use it the next day in a match . It’s a bit of a first world problem but If you’re spending a lot of money on something you want what you think you’re paying for . Amazon were great though and gave me more than enough of a partial refund to cover the cost of a racket cover and said they would feed back to the seller .

Good for the next step up
Very light. Good tension in the strings straight out of the bag.

Great racket, very light
Great racket, very light. Had to add grip as I thought handle with existing grip is small. Not sure what tension it is but could do with having more. I usually re-string at 24lbs. Comes with Zymax strings which are decent. Overall a good racket.
