I’ve always enjoyed slow cooking, but after downsizing to a smaller home, I found that my large slow cooker was just too big for the two of us. It took a lot of time to heat up, and since I only ever cook small meals, I felt like I was wasting a lot of energy and water. I also usually use the leftover liquid to make gravy, but it seemed excessive for smaller portions.After reading through a number of reviews, I chose this Crockpot for its ideal size for two people. It comes with a solid two-year warranty, the pot is dishwasher safe (though I prefer to wash it by hand to keep it in good condition!), and the price is competitive for the quality. The glass lid fits securely, and while it has a small vent hole, the cooker still performs well. I also like that it’s stable, with a cord that’s long enough for convenience. Unlike my large cooker, this one doesn’t get the countertop too hot, and there’s just enough liquid left to make gravy without too much waste.I've used it a few times to cook smaller joints, around 500g, and the results have been fantastic. The first time, I cooked the joint for 5 hours on low and kept it on warm for an additional hour. It came out tender, but the meat was a little too soft to slice cleanly. Next time, I plan to cut the cooking time to around 3-4 hours and let it rest before serving to keep the texture just right.Overall, I’m really impressed with this slow cooker. It’s well-constructed, fairly priced, and does an excellent job. The only downside is that there’s no light to show when it’s on, but that’s a minor issue compared to all the positive features. I particularly appreciate the 'keep warm' setting, which is handy for keeping the food at the right temperature without overcooking.I’m very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend this slow cooker.

We purchased this item on 15 October 2023 then today 1 February 2025, 15 months later it has gone faulty tripping the electric off.My initial decision to purchased a "Crockpot" rather than another make was because it had a good reputation being one of the early, original slow cookers. My original Crock-pot lasted 25 years! We've probably only used this new one no more than half a dozen times and now it isnt working.On the positive side, the crockpot is a great size for a family or making soups and batch cooking. The inner crock is very heavy which helps with heat retention and is removable so can be used for other things. The outside casing gets very hot when in use. The cable is very short and there is no light showing the product is turned on.All things considered we were happy with the performance whilst it lasted!On Monday 3 Feb 25 we rang the Helpline to speak to someone to give feedback. The call was answered quickly and a replacement has been arranged so we're happy with the company who also advised us that this item actually has a two year warranty which is worth knowing.Hopefully we were just unlucky and the next one will keep working for longer. My original Crock-Pot lasted 25 years!

Love it. I've currently got it with 4 lamb shoulders quietly cooking away to itself. I wish I'd bought one years ago. The lid fits, and the food is cooked and tastes so good, I can barely believe how great it is (the food, that is).I've run this using a pair of plug in electricity usage meters. I can't gaurantee they are accurate, but they both agree that the High setting is about 320-330 watts and the Low setting uses 220-230 watts. I think Warm was about 43 watts. The label on the cooker itself says 280 watts for Low and 300 for High.It's 6.5 litres, which people say is 'big'. I wish it were bigger personally. The unit is about as big as my round glass halogen oven, but the bowl capacity is a lot smaller. I can't get the same amount of food (well, meat) in. I'm not complaining though, the electricity costs are minimal and you can still get a lot in - like my 4 lamb shoulders which weigh 3.3 kg with the bones. They leave no room for more.One lucky feature are the 'run off' groves at the top of the bowl that let moisture from the lid back into the bowl. These allow me to insert a Therm Pro thermometer in the meat and take the long lead up and out of the bowl in one of the grooves. The upshot is that I can monitor the temp, and get that 90-95c ideal temperature for the meat without lifting the lid. The thermometer lead is thin enough not to push the lid up either.Yeah, I'm delighted with this. I'm aware that with every slow cooker review I've read, there are always a fair number of people for whom the oven doesn't work, is slower than 'slow' or the lid shatters or doesn't fit snugly. So far, this one's exceeding expectations for me. If I have problems I'll change this review to reflect them. It's got a two-year gaurantee, though, so that's reassuring.
