It's pretty flat really. It has more of a baseball cap appearance than Charles Bronson in the Great Escape.

HiNo the back is closed and flaps over to fit onto your head.Hope that makes sense

Q: Does this have a short bill?

It all depends on what you call a short bill. I regard it as typical for that type of cat. From the illustration you could measure your head width and the bill would be about 60- 70% of that width. I don't have the cat with me, so I cannot put a measure on it.
