Yes, but I only fold it into 4. Better to roll it. I have a cardboard tube ( from a carpet) that I roll it into for storage. I take this mat in my sewing bag to sewing clubs. Hope this helps.

Noty very thick as we took it on holiday i still put a towel underneath to be on the safe side. But it really is good for a quick fix. Hope this helps

Ironing it should help. I'm only ironing small objects on my pad and I fold it away after so the folds don't bother me.
