Great Book for beginners children or adults.
I love this book so much, it is fun to use and very easy to understand and so nice to have a backing track to play along too, It gives your confidence a real boost, there is a back track on the cd for everything in the book, so you just have to play your cd and jam along to it, Perfect as a gift or for yourself.

Totally Recommend
This book was one of the books recommended by my son's violin teacher and is perfect for a beginner who has already had book 1 'Fiddle Time Starters' (which I ordered & recieved from same seller at another time).Instruction in the book is clear and easily understood, the book itself is just over A4 in size. The book is recommended for adults & children to learn, I am learning from the same book to support my son.Book came before stated delivery date which was wonderful and is in excellent new condition. The packaging was fit for purpose and labeling was very clear.Deffinately recommend product and seller.

Fun way to learn for all ages
A violin teacher recommended this to me. I was a little unsure at first as I was returning to violin as an adult and the book is of course aimed at children. I was pleasantly surprised though as the pieces were fun to learn and being able to play along to the CD really helped. I wish I had something like this when I was younger and learning for the first time. I would recommend this to anyone of any age however if it is for an older child it will not take them long to finish the book so maybe order the fiddle time runners and fiddle time scales 1 book too (well wait to see what you think of this book first but don't do what I did and wait until finishing the book before ordering the next one). I am still waiting on receiving the runners book from amazon so cannot comment on it however the scales 1 book is worth while in my opinion, as after doing the scales exercises I found I could play the pieces in the joggers book better.Fiddle Time Scales 1, revised edition: Pieces, puzzles, scales, and arpeggios

I really enjoyed learning the tunes in the book
I really enjoyed learning the tunes in the book, but I have to agree with some of the opinions that it may not be the best for an absolute beginner (as I was myself). The tunes are a bit too fast, I think (for a total beginner) and maybe it should be more stressed that you should work more on the basics at first. Unless you're working with a teacher, then they will be able to guide you through. But if you're starting on your own and decide to go with this book, keep in mind you should make sure to spend enough time on the basics - bowing, scales...bowing! :)The fiddle is great, don't give up!

Great for a beginner
This a good book for any child wanting to learn the violin, I brought this for my daughter who already is waiting to take her grade 5 piano exam and now has just started to learn the violin, it has plenty of sort pieces to practice and comes with a handy cd to.

Great book for beginners
These fiddle time books are wonderful. The children learn to play together with accompaniment from day one. Most tunes are lovely. Learning is very structured and a lot of skills get covered from day one. Some methods are plucking strings forever. Some don't touch the g string for years. This book does a lot, but it is not a diy book. Some tunes are a little fast for beginners.

Excellent tutor book for beginners (both children and adults!)
Fantastic book!I ordered this for myself as an adult beginner after getting bored of pieces in the 'Team Strings' Tutor book. This book is designed for children but I love it as well. The book is colourful and wonderfully illustrated. Great, steady progression between each pieces with some short duets interspersed with solo pieces. It also comes with a backing CD which I love playing along to because it makes me feel I am performing. Fabulous!

Adult beginner
I stared to learn violin with this book and reached to lesson 20 on my very first class.Generally, the book is good to start with, but I found the lack of descriptions/information very annoying; for example, some of the music notes started with 3 sharp signs and another with 1 sharp sign or none and it's not explained anywhere in the whole book. There was a very brief section in the final page of the book about some of the signs, but it wasn't enough.
