I purchased this for a woman in her 90s who is going blind. She’s very devoted and loved reading the Bible so I bought this for her at Christmas. She especially loved the fact that there are hymns that she can sing along to. I highly recommend this.

I bought one of these in June, 2018 for my blind mom. First one wasn't even a year old before speaker quit working. Earphone Jack worked but no sound from speaker. I called their contact number and only get a recording saying to leave a message and they will call you back within 24 hours. No one EVER called me back! I liked these because they are easy to use for a blind person so I bought another for my mom in July of 2019. This newer one quit working last week and I call the Customer Service number again, and again, and again. It's ALWAYS just a recording and no one has ever called me back.

Purchased for a family friend who is losing her eyesight and can no longer see well enough to read a large print bible. She used to read the bible daily so she was devastated to lose the ability to do this. I wasn't sure if she would like this recorded version of the bible. She already owned a set of tapes but she disliked them because their recorded text was incorrect. I showed her how to work this bible the day she received it. I had put batteries in it before wrapping it. She was in tears later that night. She said it was the best gift she had ever received. She listens to it every night. She hasn't said anything about the text being wrong or that she dislikes the voice reading it. The buttons are easy for her to see. There are no codes to enter to get to a certain chapter. She just has to scroll through them by pushing the up or down arrow-shaped buttons. I couldn't be happier with this product. I strongly recommend this item for anyone who is unable to read a printed bible. Our friend is in her 80's and she has had no problem operating the controls. She likes the fact that it is portable and operates on batteries than a charger.

I bought this item twice. My dad really liked the first one. He had dementia and it was something he would sit for hours and listen to. So I will say it to us it was worth the cost. The down side is after about 6 months the first one stopped working so I had to buy him another. The second one lasted almost as long as the first. I don’t know if this was a product failure, but I would think so as we went through two in approx. one year. He wasn’t hard on them, just used a lot. That being said I would have bought another one if my dad was still with us. He really did like it.

My mother’s eyesight has gotten much worse this year and I found her crying one day because she couldn’t see to read her Bible. She had a large print Bible but it is still pretty small when it’s a Bible. I got her extra large and it still wasn’t big enough. I got her a GIANT print Bible which she could read but it was the Bible in 3 volumes and was kind of bulky. This little Bible works like a transistor radio. You switch it on and control the volume with the same dial. There is a button to advance between chapters but not verses. There is a switch to change between new and Old Testament. It’s a small device, easy to hold in the hand. My mother loves it and can “read” her Bible with ease now any time she wants. Soooo happy with this purchase! Narrator is male and has a nice, soothing voice.
